  1. Hah, you would think with Mccoy Stadium being the Sox's triple A stadium, we would have it out of the way by now. But hey, be my guest.
  2. The live threads have been pretty quiet until the 7-9th innings lately, at which point they seem to explode.
  3. Wait... there were free online radio feeds available last year? I was looking for it for a few teams, but I distinctly remember it being unavailable.
  4. Look on the bright side... who expected him to be hitting .309?
  5. Buchholz for Cy Young?
  6. Ramon Ramirez is up. Hooray for 7.56 ERA closers!
  7. That didn't stop them last time Buch pitched. If Bard/Pap aren't available, MDC is the best pitcher they've got right now. And yes, I understand what I just said.
  8. After his rough first, Buchholz is averaging 10 pitches per inning. Maybe he's starting to realize that if he wants a win, he has to get it himself these days.
  9. Err, Ortiz walked, Beltre hit the single.
  10. Vernon Wells earned that RBI. Maybe he'll earn his contract after all.
  11. What does that have to do with him being good for the second half of the season?
  12. I really don't know why you're so hard on Tek. The stats strongly suggest that when he's well rested(ie, the beginning of a season) he's a strong offensive player and especially so against lefties. Sure, he's had more than his share of slumps but they usually occur in the middle of the season or the end of the season-- something that happens when you spend two hours in a catcher's position every day.
  13. What I'm saying is that in this point his career, its too late for them to be diagnosing his problem as his "throwing technique" if his throwing technique won him gold gloves, and it hasn't changed since then. Why not start blaming Wakefield's problems on his slow pitch speed?
  14. a700 was generalizing, if you add Ortiz's 1062 OPS in June to the" second half of the year" his numbers are far more impressive.
  15. I don't get it, if this has been going through the years... and he won gold gloves in 2007 and 2008, why haven't his critics just shut up and realized that the way he plays may not work for most, but it works for him?
  16. Wait, when did Jeter break things off with Posada?
  17. Well, he's been very effective outside of "relative to the rest of the staff" too. Last time he pitched, his ERA was around 1.5, but they left him in too long, and he allowed 3 runs between pitches 100 and 120. Buchholz is going to have a breakout season, I feeeeeel it!
  18. That, and Varitek has his ups and downs. Hes' always been a good offensive catcher, and right now, he's hitting better than most of the team.
  19. Even crazier-- 2009 in five starts 28.2 IP 2010 in five starts 28.2 IP
  20. MDC looked really good tonite-- he was the only pitcher who went longer than an inning without a run scored.
  21. Shush, just a quiet fly out.
  22. Does Talk Sox usually empty out when its slump time?
