  1. Hall and Lowell are killing tonite. What are the odds?
  2. That's actually referring to Red Sox fans who are done with this team.
  3. Cliff Lee is pitching against the Yankees tonite, so the Red Sox could quite possibly end the night 4 games out from first place, and 3.5 games from the WC. And surprisingly enough, they're the healthiest team in the AL East right now. Edit: Why do I feel like this is asking for a big loss tonite, and someone getting seriously hurt?
  4. Unfortunately, I see this as a ill-advised move. Cash and the AAA catchers don't hit so well, but atleast they're not completely worthless defensively. I was happy about seeing Salty on this team as a long term option, but I do not seriously expect to see him perform well at this point in his career. Hopefully he doesn't see much time in the next two weeks before varitek comes back.
  5. The haters will have to quiet down if they're only 3.5 games back... Let's hope they can win.
  6. Plus, those guys would hit better in the lineup, and more home runs in that stadium.
  7. 3-1 Detroit. Come on, win this for your friends in Boston!
  8. I actually like MDC. Last year, he had a great start to the year, and fell apart when he started to pitch injured. The same thing happened this year, he was absolutely f***ing great this april/may, and then he sucked before and after his injury, and now he's got it back again.
  9. Baltimore has to be up there. Whenever the Sox are in town, there is more red in the stadium than orange.
  10. Considering that this is a game "bad start" from Dice-k, 5.2 IP, 4 ER kept them in the game tonite.
  11. What is up with MDC? He had such a great start to the season, then he completely fell apart, and now he has a 7 game scoreless streak. I don't know what to expect from him anymore.
  12. Right, but it wasn't because of injury, that's just what the plan was.
  13. They didn't walk Texeira, they didn't walk Bautista.
  14. He made two mistakes, but he's still pitching well. One run doesn't make for a awful inning.
  15. That was scary. Dice-k doesn't have this won yet.
  16. During the pregame show, they were talking about John Farrell being scouted as a manager for another team, but then they mentioned he might end up as the successor to Tito. My heart skipped a couple of beats-- that's not an actual possibility, is it?
  17. I don't get along with him. Its not worth fighting over.
  18. Yeah, actually that's a very good suggestion. Yaz's self-admitted bias really just gets under my skin, so I did the mature thing for once and threw him on my ignore list-- I got a bit heated there for a while.
  19. Kelly, Kalish, Iglesias, Stolmy, Rizzo, Lavarnway are part of this organizations long term plans. If it has to part with one of them, fine, but to give up a number of them will seriously hurt this organization's future. If this team trades away Ellsbury, it knows what it has and knows what its getting rid of.
  20. In 2009, Lowell hit .290, with an .811 OPS. Texas wanted us to pay 9 million of his contract. Cameron has equally severe injury concerns, and isn't hitting nearly as well as Lowell. If the season ended today, JD Drew would be a Type A free agent, and I honestly believe that JD Drew will perform better in a contract year. Plus, the 2 top draft picks would be worth far more to the team than the 4 million dollars it might get in the trade market. Hell, Drew has been the only good player in the outfield this year, and you want to get rid of him?
  21. You keep ignoring the question about where the prospects for a big trade will come from.
  22. I'm going to go with usual Dice-k prediction on this one. One of these two teams will win the game.
  23. Dice-k's stuff has been nasty lately. In his last start, he didn't make a lot of mistakes, but one of the ones he did ended up being a home run. Toronto's still swinging for the fences, so he just needs to keep them in check.
