  1. Two years is a long time, especially with this team's track record of bringing up quality pitching. I would prefer to keep that spot open for Kelly.
  2. This team already has Hall/McDonald/Kalish who can play defense in CF. It simply makes no sense for them to play a guy like Patterson with bad defense in center, who is a career .600 OPS hitter when they have other bad defensive centerfielders who clearly out-hit him. And I always believe that bringing up a guy early is never a good thing, and that's no different with Lin.
  3. I was just looking at Bard's stats, and I saw something interesting. He leads the AL in holds, with a sizeable lead.
  4. I wonder if VI is going to start the next thread.
  5. Apparently Guerrero doesn't understand that the Red Sox were completely willing to give them this game.
  6. In all fairness, you can get into a Pirates game for the change in your ash tray.
  7. Atchison doesn't have a save in his career.
  8. Even if Atchison gets it done... taking Lester out was a bad decision.
  9. Pink hats have green wallets.
  10. I still think its worth giving Lester a chance to get the shutout.
  11. I can't say enough how impressed I have been by Lowell since he got off the DL. he's been above average defense at 1st, and he's been very hot at the plate.
  12. They're going to leave Lester in, even if it takes 130-140 pitches. They can't afford to give this to the pen.
  13. No one watching tonite I take it.
  14. Is it just me, or does Lowell play exceptional first base?
  15. Drew, Ellsbury, Hermida, Beckett, Okajima. Players I do like -- all the home-grown players(that includes Delcarmen but not Halle Berry), Dice-k, Lackey, Scutaro, Lowell.
  16. I agree completely. It seems like half this team is working its ass off to try to keep the ship afloat, and the other half can't seem to give a damn. I've enjoyed watching this season thoroughly because of guys like McDonald, Atchison, Doubront, Lowrie and company who have done everything they could for the win column. All while Theo sat on his ass at the trade deadline, when the yankees made moves that cost them practically nothing.
  17. Beckett, Ellsbury, Cameron and Okajima need to take the season off. They shouldn't be trying to come back, to perform poorly, and keep hurting themselves and the team. Its time to give up on Beckett for Doubront, Ellsbury for Nava, and Cameron for Kalish.
  18. I am officially dubbing him as Halle Berry, the long lost sister of Nancy Drew.
  19. I think they should simply stop paying Beckett's contract.
  20. Man, isn't it exciting that Shaq is coming to the Celtics....
  21. It sounds like a JD Drew injury to me. The team was up six runs, and he felt sore, so he gave himself the night off. Soreness doesn't mean re-broken ribs, so while he may be day-to-day, I doubt he'll go to the DL.
  22. That's the worst error ever. He had no control over where the runner was.
  23. Have you seen the Toronto Blue Jays and their robin egg blue color? They look like Na'vi.
  24. 700, I completely agree with you. I can't decide whether the Orioles look more like prison inmates, or astronauts.
  25. Anyone in their right mind would take Lee over Beckett. But at the time, the Beckett deal seemed like a good one at the time-- a 4 year deal on a pitcher who had such a great 2009? On another note, f*** you Hamilton.
