  1. On that note... Dice-k will be healthy right in time for the 2013 WBC.
  2. I voted for Jeter 25 times. Getting in will give him a nice inflated sense of pride that will only cause further problems in the Yankee organization Oh, scratch that, now that I think of it, that vote gets cancelled out by my right-in at SS.
  3. The pressure is on Jenks and Wheeler to perform now. Papelbon/Albers/Hill/Aceves took some major heat off their s***** performance by performing well above expectations, and no one was even discussing Wheeler/Jenks. Now, it is time to pitch like their paychecks.
  4. I think we'll get much better results from Lackey moving forward. I'm not necessarily expecting a low ERA, but if he can get his personal stuff together, I see no reason why he won't give 6-7 innings and a 4.50 ERA every time out.
  5. Well, Dice-k gets what he wants-- to go back to Japan. We get what we wanted-- Dice-k went back to Japan. Everyone wins. Hmm... that's weird, $50 for bleacher seats at Fenway...
  6. How on earth is it that Nishioka and Scutaro are on the All-star ballot and Lowrie is not? Nishioka has played 6 games in the major leagues for f***'s sake.
  7. One day, maybe sooner than we all expect, Shaq will win an Oscar.
  8. f*** 1:35 starts. I missed the last 5 games, and the Sox lose 3. That's bad mojo.
  9. Felix Doubront threw 3 1/3 shutout innings of one-hit ball in a recent outing in AAA. He probably knows that he's fighting for a spot in the starting rotation right now, glad to see he's stepping it up.
  10. Forget 2009 so quickly?
  11. Did he hit Quentin twice in this game?
  12. I'm going over the 40 man roster, and I don't see any.
  13. I think we should put out a new talksox rule-- Don't complain about a pitcher when he isn't actually giving up any runs.
  14. Here's an idea. How about we send documents from this procedure to several large Christian groups around the country, and when they start blacklisting the MLB, or whatever crazy things they do, the MLB will forced to do something about it.
  15. The problem is the lefthandedness of this lineup. Putting a big RHH in the DH spot will help balance the team out. The only reason this team has done so well against LHP is because Lowrie is crushing the ball against lefties with a 1.100+ OPS, but I'm worried that he may not last the season with a Red Sox FO that wants to get rid of him, and probably is thinking about selling high this deadline.
  16. Actually, the more I think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Last year, with Victor Martinez and Adrian Beltre in the middle of the lineup, this team was significantly more right-handed and Ortiz was that one big LH bat, so lefthanded pitchers pitched around him. This year, with all those LHH, he's getting a lot more pitches, and he's seriously taking advantage of it, and that probably shows why he and JD Drew hit so poorly against LHP last year.
  17. Soxsport would be pleased.
  18. I ask this all the time... but, where the hell did Hill come from?
  19. Woah Youk, that was pretty awesome.
