In the NFL lockout, I've felt like this all was the owners' fault, and with the NBA lockout, I've felt like it was the players' fault. Somewhere between 16 and 23 teams are losing money. I don't care which of those figures is actually the correct one, that's a ton of teams.

Honestly, I say screw the back-end of the rotation. This playoff rotation will be just as good as any in the game, besides Philly and maybe Tampa/Oakland/Brewers/Angels. Look at what the Yankees have done with a pile of filler. Pick up Beltran, and the Sox have the best lineup in the majors, by a significant margin. Millwood, Tazawa, Doubront, Aceves, Wakefield, Lackey, Weiland, Miller. There has to be something in that mess that will give some kind of production as #4/#5 pitching.

What is it going to take for Mcdonald to get DFAed? It seemed like the worse he plays, the more starts Tito gives him.

There is nothing from Lackey's past performance that says "Oh, he's going to have the worst season in franchise history for a SP". He's having a terrible season, and needs to be phantom DLed for 60 days while he gets his s*** together. But don't say that statistical analsysis would indicate he would gain "worst pitcher ever" status.

The Red Sox have serious issues against low-exposure pitchers. Why is this such a huge issue in this organization?

Considering Pedroia slumped for a full month, I don't see this as any real shame. Youkilis is a much more difficult one to take since he has a full .100 OPS on Beltre, but I guess that one has to go to defense.
