    Because we're evaluating what Crawford is going to be for the next six years. Yes, the first month of the season happened, and it counts towards this season, but he's shown since May 1st that he can hit to the level he did while in Tampa. Players need time to adjust when moving to new teams, it happens. Look at Beckett's first season here.

    Didn't Harden have some health issues? Lars for Harden would have been a complete steal otherwise.

    I could very easily seeing him taking April and May off next year, and the Red Sox signing him midway through the season when one starter, plus Weiland, plus Doubront all go down/prove ineffective.

    I would love to see the Sox in some heated talks with Oakland this offseason. They have three high quality starting pitchers who are all relatively cheap. It would probably take a package of Kalish, maybe Lowrie, plus another good hitting prospect, but Oakland could definitely use the boost in offense, big time.

    Lackey didn't get lit up against the Rays his last game against them. If the offense has his back like usual, it could be a close game.

    The 25ish million he's still owed. They probably won't eat all that much of it, I don't think.

    Well, its not like his numbers have turned themselves around. His recent starts are just as bad as his ones in April--in the NL-- so if they want him as a buy low target, the offseason is probably a better plan.
