  1. scratch that, thats why you get insurance runs!
  2. my bashing of Scutaro has awoken him! 3 hits tonight!
  3. You have 4 teams which are at least 7 games above .500. The 4th place Boston Red Sox (30-23) are just 5 games behind the Rays and then you have the Blue Jays and the Yankees sandwiched in there. This is easily the toughest, most competitive division in baseball. Right now I'm wondering who wins it and which team from the AL East wins the Wild Card. I think the Blue Jays will fade, the Rays will come back down to earth a bit, and by July 1st you could see the Red Sox/Yankees/Rays all within three games of each other.
  4. nice f***ing job Bard
  5. There is still a long way to go in his recovery, but none the less, excitiing to see him doing football related activites already
  6. Funny you use the word back with Beckett, who knows when he'll be back b/c of his back. Both guys could still be out for decent chunks of time. Offense is clicking right now, Lester-Buccholz are pitching insanely, Dice-K is effective every other start, Delcarmen-Bard-Paps are pitching well, so its exciting!
  7. Timely hit Dustin! Ortiz getting the intentional walk feels like old times, lets add to this lead!
  8. Welker was running at about 75% for about 20 minutes in stretching, agility, and cutting drills today at OTA's. Seeing him out on the field already makes me very excited. Maybe he will be actually ready enough to avoid the PUP list when the season starts
  9. why couldn't he have just gotten out of the 7th? Ugh!
  10. Its kind of sad to see him go out like this. The guy had the sweetest swing I have ever seen, and if he hadn't gotten injured for all those years in Cinncy we would be talking about this guy being the greatest player in MLB history, he would have easily broken Aaron's all time HR record. He still has a 1st ballot HOF career, but there are home runs and stats he left out on the table b/c of those lost games due to injury.
  11. Thats how you strand a guy on 3rd with no outs
  12. I'm hoping that is what he will be in 2012
  13. Wow, WTF umps. That play has to appealed, how can you cost a guy a perfect game like that? The only thing that could make this worse is if Joe West called him safe.
  14. As a side, both Gonzalez and Scuataro are both considered stop gap solutions, well how long is it until Iglesias will be major league ready? I feel like Gonzo would have been the ultimate stop gap, you have him for a year and then have him optioned for a second year if need be. Instead the Sox are locked into Scutaro (who is no spring chicken) for 3 years. I assume Iglesias won't be on the major league roster until the final year of that Scutaro deal, so perhaps it will work out. Regardless, Gonzo>Scutaro
  15. Dice-KKKKKK. Damn he is rolling
  16. Well, the Sox should have just brought back Gonzo, but w/e.
  17. The series has a lot of match ups which will dictate how the series turns out. Will Pierce be able to score off of Artest? Artest has defended him well in the past, and as we saw against the Cavs, when Pierce as a top defender on him, he can be shut down. I think Pierce will be pretty ineffective for the series with Artest covering him. The C's did a great job on Kobe last time they met up, but some of that credit has to go to James Posey, I'm not sure Ray Allen, Tony Allen and Co. can keep Kobe down for an entire series. I think he'll go off and drop at least 40 in a couple games and lead the Lakers to victory by himself in those games. I think Rondo will own Fisher, depending on his injury to his back of course. Lastly, KG vs. Gasol. Gasol was soft in 08, but he has toughened up a lot since then and has become one of the best big men in the game. With an again KG on him who can't play as good as defense, I think there will be times when Gasol can take over the game. I think Gasol will be able to stop KG, but right now he doesn't have to b/c KG's shot vanished for most of the Orlando series.
  18. Soderling beat Federer for his first time in 13 match ups. I hope he can beat Nadal in the Finals b/c with Djokavic out Nadal has his path cleared to the Finals. On the womens side, of the final 4, none of them have won a grand slam
  19. He's one I've been on the fence about, b/c I don't really expect much out of him to begin with, his batting average, obp, slugging, ops, and all his offense where I thought it would be, but his defense hasn't been that great and I've noticed that going to his right his range just doesn't seem to be very good. Granted I didn't want Scutaro to begin with, but I think most people feel that he is slightly under performing for what he is getting paid
  20. With all those bodies crowding around home plate when a guy comes in off of a game winning hit, I would have thought something like this would have happened sooner, I mean its really easy to jump, land and slip on some players leg, roll your ankle or break it.
  21. So, out of the 4 big signings this offseason, 3 of them have been a bust so far, great.
  22. Dice-K is rolling right now
