  1. There's no highest bidder anymore, under the new rules the most teams can bid for Japanese pitcher's is a 20 mill posting fee.
  2. Pretty sure Soriano will be the DH
  3. So much for Girardi going to the Cubs, Yankees have re-signed him to a 4-year contract.
  4. Cleveland is finished.
  5. I genuinely apologize if you feel that way, I'll try to be more considerate in my posts from now on.
  6. You were able to get 2 runs off him over 7 innings, that might not be enough next time.
  7. Verlander has been pretty solid for the entire past month, plus they have Scherzer and Sanchez who have been lights out this year. Also Ellsbury is injured. I didn't say you didn't have a chance, winning the WS is really a crap shoot, any team can have a 3 game slump. But on paper I think they clearly have the advantage and I predict they will reach the WS against the Dodgers.
  8. can't wait till you get stomped by Detroit
  9. I'll bet you a hefty sum Mo' and Jeter do.
  10. I kinda view it as any extra time he spent on the field is offset by the 4 retire's he took off, more than half of which wouldn't have been recovery time. You're selling him short by calling him a No. 3, he was clearly a top notch No. 2. Also it wasn't only just his winning percentage either. Quoting this part from an ESPN article
  11. Yes, that's why I said If he didn't pitch in the heart of the steroid era he "might" be Take a look at the other facts besides ERA "There aren't many pitchers with Pettitte's 250-odd wins and .625-ish winning percentage. Here are the pitchers with between 225 and 275 wins, and a winning percentage between .600 and .650: .604 David Wells .621 Bob Feller .622 Carl Hubbell .627 Andy Pettitte .631 Juan Marichal .638 Jim Palmer .638 Mike Mussina .648 Mordecai Brown David Wells isn't getting into the Hall of Fame, but Mike Mussina might be. The other non-Pettitte guys are in." Plus they're's always the fact he's won more postseason games than anyone
  12. No, he was a great pitcher, but he was never an Ace.
  13. Petitte wasn't using the same stuff as Clemens, Sosa, Bonds, etc. that were chronic users trying to cheat the game itself by enhancing there stats greatly. And once it came out he was pretty open about it unlike most who would deny until countless amounts of evidence is in front of them. But to you all he is cheater and phony right? and who are you to judge, the next Pope?
  14. rose-tinted glasses don't offer much protection from rays of truth.
  15. He might have been a HoF caliber pitcher if he wasn't pitching during the heart of the steroids era.
  16. Pettitte is retiring
  17. Lol you really think I showed up because you lost two games in row? two pointless games I might add since you already have the division locked up.
  18. If we can we the series against Rays we still have a shot at this.
  19. Does this mean Ellsbury is definitely out for the rest of the regular season? Trying to figure out if I should drop him from my Fantasy team now or not.
  20. first the sinner gets cut, and now the saint. lol
  21. kinda miss gom, jacko is basically the only yankees fan that still posts here.
  22. Braun's apology was pretty pathetic, he just released a statement written by his PR team, and at the same time used the excuse of "oh I only used it once to come back from an injury". He should at least manned up and did it in front of a camera to show he was sincere and said something in his own words.
  23. Wheeler's not even in his prime yet, 23 years old with fastball that can hit 100 mph and curve that are both considered plus pitches. He's also working on his slider which is expected to develop to have a sharper and longer break going from right to left of the strike zone. He has the potential to be a future Ace.
  24. I think it's a good trade by the Red Sox, they sold high with Iggy, although Peavy hasn't pitched that well in the AL and now he has to pitch in the East.
  25. HGH is undetectable in urine, in-season HGH blood testing actually didn't even start until this season, 8 years after it was banned. Show me your source that says it was banned prior to 2005? Because everywhere I look says it was in fact banned in 2005. HGH is legal by a prescription from a licensed doctor, Pettitte's only mistake wasn't getting a script for it, something he could have easily done.
