    If the Sox could acquire some better pitching they would probably be a playoff contender. They have the talent to compete. The Red Sox are among the leaders in runs scored and that's without ellsbury, Crawford , and with A-Gon in a power slump for the first half.

    I thought you were talking about the best player on this team as of present, I consider 30 year old Gonzalez to be the overall a better player than 36 year old Ortiz.

    Ortiz is a DH, while Gonzalez is a gold glove first basemen, try putting Ortiz back at 1B and see how well he does.

    You realize David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez both tested positive for PED's in 2003. We all know how Manny turned out since then. It's not unreasonable for people to be a little suspicious.

    I wouldn't be to worried about Nash, he's still incredibly effective offensively and a remarkably consistent performer, even at 38 years old. The Lakers have instantly gone from a struggling team on offense to one with incredible potential. Nash at the point, Kobe on the wing, with Gasol and Bynum up front (at least for now) Good luck guarding those guys. The potential for spectacularly entertaining basketball is very strong.

    Great win today. They really won this one as a team. Especially after starting off hit less against Price. This team is starting to look scary good... and that's without CC and Pettitte. They're gonna be dangerous in October.

    You're right, after thinking it over and considering he's already made over 100 million during his career I guess if he wants a ring that badly he'll go with Miami.
