  1. '47 was his second triple crown season, not '49
  2. What a shocker...
  3. A-Rod's camp issued a statement... "The news report about a purported relationship between Alex Rodriguez and Anthony Bosch are not true. Alex Rodriguez was not Mr. Bosch's patient, he was never treated by him and he was never advised by him. The purported documents referenced in the story -- at least as they relate to Alex Rodriguez -- are not legitimate." Gio has also gone to twitter to deny this. "I've never used performance enhancing drugs of any kind and I never will ,I've never met or spoken with tony Bosch or used any substance" "Provided by him.anything said to the contrary is a lie." http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-on-baseball/21622251/arod-gio-gonzalez-deny-ped-allegations
  4. Francona just released a book on Tuesday. "It's essentially a biography of Francona with an emphasis on his time with the Sox. Along the way you will learn how difficult it was to manage Manny Ramirez and Pedro Martinez. You'll hear about the time David Wells threatened to punch the manager. Daisuke Matsuzaka was a diva and the end of Nomar Garciaparra's tenure in Boston was difficult. No surprises there. But even a few selfish moments from David Ortiz are detailed. Reading the book will give you a new-found appreciation for Francona and all the personalities he had to contend with." Anyone plan on giving it a read? http://bostonglobe.com/arts/books/2013/01/22/book-review-francona-the-red-sox-years-terry-francona-and-dan-shaughnessy/e9Idw1ShtCp7FVG9WGO4pL/story.html
  5. Robby will be the last home grown star left after Jeter, Rivera, and Pettitte gone. I can't see him going anywhere.
  6. She looks decent with makeup on, but she's definitely not a natural beauty. If she was a random chick that looked like this I probably wouldn't approach her. (here's a more recent pic btw I don't see a huge improvement from the high school one) http://78.img.v4.skyrock.net/0872/72170872/pics/2852631082_1.jpg
  7. I would put Bo second but Jim Thorpe is the greatest. In a poll of sports fans conducted by ABC Sports, Thorpe was voted the Greatest Athlete of the Twentieth Century out of 15 other athletes including Muhammad Ali, Babe Ruth, Jesse Owens, Wayne Gretzky, Jack Nicklaus, and Michael Jordan, etc.
  8. The three of them will never be on the same team though.
  9. I can't think of a better OF than those three, would like to see you try and come up better ones though.
  10. I used to think Ke$ha was a hottie, but I had a change of heart after seeing her in a bikini and without makeup. http://bikini.cloudshare14.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/wpid-kesha-bikini-sydney-11102010-lead.jpg http://www.imgegg.com/img/1/8757-3.jpg
  11. Brady was also carried by a great defense early in this career, especially during his first Superbowl when he only threw for 145 yards. Not to mention all three wins were won by 3 points, they could have easily gone the other way. Are you aware Brady is only 7-for-7 in his last 14 playoffs games?
  12. I'll give you Unitas, but Graham isn't even on the same level as Brady.
  13. Seems like this was a publicity stunt to win the Heisman
  14. I'd gladly take you up on this bet, no way the Sox will finish better than the Yanks with their current rotation.
  15. That's what Red Sox fans said at the start of 2011. In the NL East, that's what Phillies fans said at the start of this past year. In the AL West, that's what Angel fans said at the start of this past year. In the NL West, that's what Dodger fans said this past August. What did all those teams have in common? High expectations & lots of big names, but no playoffs. Don't assume the Jays have won before the season has even started
  16. They will only need him out there every day until June when A-Rod returns.
  17. The same team that won the AL East the past two years, Yankees.
  18. What are the chances Hamilton doesn't relapse in LA?
  19. He doesn't, rotation is Sabathia, Pettitte, Kuroda, Hughes and Phelps/Nova competing for the 5th spot.
  20. I'm not saying he can't hit good pitchers. He faces tons of pitchers, and anyone in the major leagues is going to hit good pitchers if they are going to stay in the major leagues. I just don't think he can consistently hit good pitching. Good pitchers make mistakes, too, but in the playoffs you tend to see more consistently good pitching. He's always been a mistake hitter, and good ML hitters live off of mistakes. But Swisher's ability is to foul off good pitches until he gets a cookie, and he doesn't get as many in October (plus the fact I think he is mentally screwed up with his postseason numbers to where he overthinks his approach in each at bat). It's merely my view of him that I've always held. Good hitter, good approach. But execute against him and he has less a chance of getting a hit than other good hitters.
  21. Also consistently bad against good pitching, aka the playoffs. Though the Sox are probably a couple years away from that so he'd still be a good fit.
  22. From ESPN Jayson Stark's twitter : "Signing Napoli would take the Red Sox out of Adam LaRoche bidding. But Cody Ross, Nick Swisher & Shane Victorino still on their radar screen" "Source familiar with #RedSox thinking on chances they'll sign Josh Hamilton: "They're not zero percent. But they're not high."
  23. Don't get you hopes up, I think it's more likely they sign Victorino or Swisher.
  24. Yanks and Rivera have agreed on the parameters of a one-year deal, expected to be completed by tomorrow.
  25. Anyways Pettitte has agreed to a 1 year / 11 mill deal with the Yanks.
