  1. Saying Nick Johnson is out, is like saying Angie Jolie adopted another kid. Could you ever count Nick Johnson in? He takes a lot of stints to the DL, he just wasn't a reliable signing.
  2. It isn't April anymore... but it's still only May as Dipre pointed out to a Red Sox poster in another thread about Austin Jackson. Here's a goal... try spending one day, even one thread, where you don't try to spin every single Yankee event into the second coming of Derek Jeter's birth.
  3. Jackson, who New York dealt to Detroit in the Curtis Granderson deal, became the first player in the majors with 50 hits this season. Good for you, AJax
  4. Amazingly, Jon Lester, Buchholz and Matsuzaka all took batting practice and made it out without tweaking anything. It's either one thing or another with Josh... not that Daisuke has been the picture of health, either.
  5. Stick it, Arod - Perfect gamer's grandma.
  6. plus he's now tweaked his back
  7. You can't make this stuff up, except usually Beckett has had this happen the last 2 years coming into the playoffs: via Twitter:
  8. Probably not too funny to his teammates, but yes all the more funny to us. Hells yea!
  9. Aight.. cool, cool.
  10. Didn't papi homer off Burnett in a game last year when he was startin' to come around... Burnett as a Yankee is an aid to slumping, aging Red Sox.
  11. Good news: Red Sox won. Bad news: Daisuke on Tuesday.
  12. He's also really 6'3 in person
  13. John Farrel... where pitchers go to underachieve
  14. http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/film/undergrads/outlines/fi102/vertigo.jpg
  15. I have to admit not knowing a ton about Vertigo. Sounds like one of the Alfred Hitchcock classic movie flicks
  16. Don't forget that in Saturday's start, Hughes was taking the mound in " NEXT STEP " towards ace-like status And also according to Jacko, Jeremy Hermida will be DFA'ed before Bill Hall.
  17. EVERY Yankee has "taken the next step"... God, you're homerific
  18. just his defense has, at times..
  19. Yep . His baseball instincts seem off at times. Or he loves to make the highlight reel, flashy plays that Scott Boras probably has on DVD, but Beltre will oddly flub some routine ones. Just bizarre...
  20. You're losing mobility by playing Lowell. But no argument that Beltre has been less solid than advertised at times on defense. The man that many consider near the best of the game's third basemen. The man that Joe Maddon said he regarded as the best defensive third basemen he's ever seen. But hey, what does Joe Maddon care. He's got Evan Longoria and perhaps the best team in baseball.
  21. The 2010 Red Sox have changed my life. They taught me anything is possible. Sweep or be swept. The 2010 team motto and one to live by... Emily - please print that, just for kicks?
  22. You do have to admit Dipre that Beltre has been oddly unsound at times on defense.
  23. Yeah, that's obvious. (Btw... I understand that you didn't mean he's an ace, because clearly he's not. Unfortunately... )
