I don't see where all this "you'll only have him for one year" talk is coming from. Up here (Canada, moreso Toronto) they have been saying any team that puts together a deal that is to the liking that the Jays will allow that team to talk with Doc about signing an extension before the deal is even done.

Just thought I would have a little fun and see what everyone would consider the best free agent team they could put together. Putz RP - Guillermo Mota CL - Billy Wagner ----------------------- My team was picked off of my personal feelings for the players. I didn't look at stats or anything like that. I'm pretty sure I'm biased towards some players (Ankiel, McDonald and Mota) and others probably should have been put there in their place but oh well. So what do you guys think your free agent team would look like?

Seeing as we're mainly a basketball school, I doubt we will kill them. This is the same team that lost to the Canadian Junior Team for the Gold medal.

My school's team is playing the Swedish World Junior Team sometime next month. I don't know why though lol

They have already said that Gatson will be there all year next year. Take that for what its worth though because if them bomb like Baltimore and are way below 500, I could see Gaston gone WAY before the year ends.

He was brought in because he was a moneyball guy but the thing with them is that they are not likely to win WS. Ricciardi's first few years there he was playing "money ball" baseball like Beane did/does with the A's but the Rogers family didn't like that so they wanted him to go wild with money. Ricciardi is a good baseball mind but I don't think he should be the one calling the final shots on such things as free agents or drafting. Maybe Beane will take him back to the A's org.

I don't see a problem with this. I stole signs from 2nd in high school ball. I also picked up on the signed the 3rd base coach was giving for such things as bunt, steal, take, etc. I see no problem with either one.

I think its mainly for getting some rest for players on playoff bound teams or having teams that are not going to make it come up and see how they do in the bigs. Its not like the team with 29 players can call up 6 more players and have it even. Its their choice.

Agreed. You play to get into the playoffs (any way you can) and once you are there, you move on from there.
