  1. I seriously hate the idea of the Heat to the point where I'd rather even have had the Lakers win over them. I hate the Lakers too.
  2. I disagree, you've got to realize that Rose could have had another small streak of like 13 games right after, he would have had the record, which makes it about as close to DiMaggio as Buehrle is to Vander Meer tbh.
  3. I like John Lackey too, but he's being paid too much for me to not at least be dissatisfied with how he's played with the Red Sox. He needs to do more than just keep us in games, because that's not what pitchers making that kind of money do, they hold the opponent to a low amount of runs, and they pitch a lot of innings. At least that's what they should be doing. I hope he turns it around, but he's definitely been a bust so far.
  4. I thought it was "underage ftw"? @ Bolded: I lol'd. Like really, I lol'd. Hardcore lol'd.
  5. I assume the the younger the better with you, right?
  6. Totally forgot him on my list, last year he had that run where, if not for Mike Stanton catching this ball out of bounds that he should have let drop to avoid a run scoring, he could have gone 12 straight without giving up more than 1 run. That would have broken Bob Gibson's record of consecutive starts of giving up 1 run or less.
  7. Yeah, everyone looks clutch sometimes, but there's some players who look clutch a lot more than others, they seem to have the ability to turn into Superman whenever they wanted. Kobe at least WAS one of those players when he was in his prime. Michael Jordan was definitely one of those guys. Lebron got shut down for entire playoff series' in tough situations before. Against the Celtics, the Spurs, etc. He looked pretty mediocre in those series to be honest. He's not at that level where he's unstoppable in all situations against the most formidable challenges yet. This years Celtics were not that good without Perkins.
  8. Jim1987 emits a foul and offensive odor.
  9. Managing in the AL isn't about strategy the way it is in the NL. Joe Girardi is just as terrible a strategist as Tito, and the Yankees win 95 games every year pretty much. Seriously, Ron Gardenhire is as bad as they come, he puts in guys who have career 9 ERAs versus the Yankees to face Tex and A-Rod. Seriously, the slump will pass and you'll forget about how frustrating Tito is with his pitching decisions. Just knee-jerk reactions, if he misses out on the playoffs this season, then you legitimately have to hold someone accountable, considering how good this team should be.
  10. Everyone always seemed to think he was some kind of ace. He never was, he was really just a solid pitcher who was good for a mid-to-upper-3s ERA.
  11. Easily the most ridiculous accomplishment in the entire sport. There's like 4 or 5 marks/records that IMO will never be achieved again, and that tops the list. Many greats have gone without 1 no-hitter, or just 1 no-hitter, but some guy who's not even in the hall of fame pitched two straight. These feats will never be accomplished again: 1. Vander Meer's 2 straight no-hitters. 2. Ty Cobb's .367 lifetime average 3. Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak. 4. Walter Johnson's 110 shutouts. I suspect that Ichiro's 262 hits in a season will stand, George Sisler's 257 hits used to be considered one of the most "unbreakable" records, and I don't think we'll ever see someone who racks up hits the way Ichiro does, but that's just my opinion. There's some that everyone knows will never be broken, like all of Cy Young's records.
  12. Well, gotta win the rest of the games now. I've seen stranger things happen, but man, they really should have had that one.
  13. Must... win...

  17. Wait, SFF got banned?
  18. Settle down, it's early. The Guardians have one of the best records in baseball, the Twins have on paper one of the most formidable lineups in baseball, and are scoring like 2 runs per game. You want to see a team that's s***ing the bed right now? It's the Twins, my close-second favorite team. I don't ever give up until mathematical elimination, because I've seen the 2006 Twins go from 9 games below .500 (much later than this, too, it was almost at the all-star break), and follow it up with a 34-8 run to finish with 96 wins and top the Tigers for first place on the last day of the season.
