  1. Well, he got a pitch right down the middle from Burnett on the second pitch but he couldn't line it up.
  2. Walk a player to bring up a 45+ home run hitting lefty in Yankee Stadium? That's interesting...
  3. And here come the walks from Burnett...
  4. Looks like you negated your own point there. How about that.
  5. And Burnett at 37 lol
  6. You didn't actually think every little play was going to continue to go the Yankees way, did you? Oh, you did? That's so cute!
  7. This is where a normal person would have admitted they were thinking of the wrong salary figure and apologize.
  8. Cashman signed CC, Tex and Burnett to a combined 20 years, they've played a combined 3 years of that (15%). Calling that a success is like declaring the World Series winner in April. In other words, your Cashulation is premature.
  9. Aside from his notorious intangibles, what makes Jeter the total package? He's a singles hitter who plays bad defense at his position.
  10. Have you guys heard the legend of Yankee Jesus? When Jeter was born the stars in the sky aligned in pinstripes that lead 3 wise baseball players to his house. First came Johnny Bench and he gave Jeter a "C" be be sewn on to his footie pajamas and said "I give you the gift of team leadership". Next came Joe Morgan and he gave Jeter a lifetime supply of Gillette razor blades and he said, "this is so you can keep silky smooth. You will be a great lady's man one day." And lastly came Pete Rose and he brought Jesus... I mean Jeter a wooden horse. And he said, "one day you will have more hits than the Iron Horse, but it will take you 500 more AB to do it, so I dub you The Wooden Horse." Not sure why they were all Reds players, but that's the way the legend goes.
  11. I agree. He's streaky and he scores most of his goals against bad teams. In my opinion he's overrated.
  12. Victor isn't the best move Theo's ever made, but it was a great move. Thanks for the win tonight Theo!
  13. Honestly, it's not that significant. The current record holder had the same amount of hits in something like 500 less AB before his career was affected by ALS. When Jeter breaks the record he'll be less than 50th all-time in hits in the majors and he won't even be a top 10 Yankees player all-time.
