  1. This being the internet there is usually a way of finding most things, so is there any chance I could find the ALCS 2004 game 4 onwards and Lester's no hitter? Any other links to memorable Sox moments would also be welcomed. Thanks.
  2. Hardy is a personal favourite of mine and a new home could revitalise him and then you have a naughty player on your hands.
  3. The inside the park homer is always fun as well.
  4. Not for me thanks. How about JJ Hardy for SS? Minor league? I don't think so!
  5. I envy the people who say it is a link to their child hood and their dads. I don't speak to my dad and even when I did he was never interested in anything I did. Only reason I say this is to remind you how lucky you are in that respect. Back to Baseball and I of course love the triple play, to me the greatest thing in baseball. I am not alone in that view by the way, Hank Aaron also thought so.
  6. I think it was a good effort. There was no embarrasment to be had and Buchholz can walk away with more experience and his head held high. Thought there might have been a bit of a rally in the 7th but it wasn't to be.
  7. Let's say Papi is gone, who do you replace him with directly or otherwise?
  8. Is it just me or does Joboo look a lot like Woody Paige but out in the sun too long?
  9. We need reinforcements for this one: http://www.displaystatues.com/images/lgfib02budha1727.jpg Buddha http://img.timeinc.net/recipes/i/recipes/ck/06/04/chow-mein-ck-1173828-l.jpg Buddha's Belly Beef
  10. In which case A-Rod will be piggy backed to the altar as it would make me happy to take a crowbar to his legs.
  11. A plague a both your homers. Bonds shouldn't even be on the list.
  12. I doubt Bay would want to walk and I think he will have more than sorted it out by the time his contract comes up. If he did WANT to leave however then I can think of much bigger losses. This is not to say I would want him to go but that maybe he is not as irreplacable as your post suggests.
  13. I don't think there is a player in the Red Sox organisation who would actually want to miss 5 games so this is very much an unselfish act as far as I'm concerned.
  14. Can't agree. There was a fight in 2004 against the Yankees that cleared the benchs and totally changed the momentum of the Red Sox season. A kick up the ass was needed. Porcello wins by a takedown by the way. Sorry CoachC didn't see your post. Spot on.
  15. Will you ever beat Mexico in their own back yard? I haven't seen the game so I won't comment till I have. Any Revo fans on here?
  16. Pedro looked good without obviously the old shock and awe. Good solid start for him and the Phillies are about to win this one (12-3) more than likely.
  17. I've never felt the way I do about a sport other than my first love football ("soccer") as I do for Baseball. One thing that always amazes me about baseball is the field. There is something breathtaking and majestic about a baseball field. The dimensions when you think about it were just meant to be. Any shorter and you take away the small ball element as everyone reaches base easily and too long and you miss the bang bang plays and no one reaches base. I've never been to a baseball game, it is a dream of mine and there is no where I would want to go more than Fenway. I love the small ball aspect of the game, I'm not one for power hitters although Youkilis intrigues me and so I like him because of the way he can intimidate pitchers and really take them to the edge making them earn every pitch. Even from the T.V you just get the sense of how special baseball fields are and if it is anything like the footy, it probably doesn't even begin to tell the story.
  18. Even as the new guy .... never doubt Ellsbury. There should be more players like him and you need to appreciate more what you have. Form temporary, class permanent.
  19. but the scouse invasion continues. Yep, that's right I'm from Liverpool as well. Small world eh? Got a confession, used to be a Yankee "fan" when I didn't and couldn't really follow the game. Now they are the only team I can't stand. Not saying I'm a Red Sox fan, I haven't earned that right if you like but what I will say is that for their history, the ball park, the way they go about things, the fans and the fact they remind me of my "sawka" team Liverpool F.C I am being drawn towards Fenway and the Sox and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it. I'm a Twins fan for the same reasons other than "Target Field" (what a horrible name and I hate new Stadia).
  20. Good to know a fellow scouser is about. Red or blue mate?
