I have no problem with Pillar or Kiermier because I have seen them make great plays for several years. Buxton I admit I know little about. Maybe he is deserving but JBJ has been deserving for 3 or so years and has never made it. To me that is a f***ing joke.

Yup. The Sox have sucked several times while I have been a fan. I never lost interest in them. The Celtics sucked hard for a few years but I have watched Danny do some really good things that have born fruit the past two years and now the team is on the verge of being a competitor for the NBA championship. I never lost interest completely. These things are cyclic whether one wants to acknowledge it or not. To me, for this team to fall off a cliff it would have to go into receivership. Money can cure many ills in this game.

Yup. They immediately gave the coaching staff the green light to find other jobs. That is clearly saying "we are moving in another direction" or in plain words, "we don't want you anymore". I see no reason to panic about getting a new set of coaches. Everyone here is just keying on some familiar names and wringing their hands because the Sox have not signed any of them. Guess what? Maybe the Sox did not want those guys anyway. Maybe they have spoken with Cora and with other candidates for the open positions. It's called planning. Maybe the Sox have some plans.

Not thread worthy but JBJ just got snubbed in the Gold Glove nomination process or whatever it is called. Pillar, Cain, and the guy in Minnesota Thruxton or whatever are the finalists. What a f***ing joke the GG is now.

There was an interview published yesterday with David Wright. In it he lays out what he went through when he had similar surgery. It's pretty f***ing gruesome. I don't count on Pedroia for anything in 2018 and I don't see ERod doing much either. DD needs to go shopping for a #4 type or dumpster dive like Fister and he needs to find a decent 2nd baseman. I doubt that he can fix all that is wrong with this team to the extent that they get to the WS in 2018. -

I don't know the DBack's situation but I doubt that they are up against the cap. It would not surprise me if they held onto JD as well as Goldshmidt.

One of the TV baseball sows in Boston talked about Betts hurting his hand in the second game of the season. Not sure about it but those guys all acted as if it was widely understood to be a problem for the entire season. I think it was his left hand.

Why would the M's want Ellsbury? He is from Washington, I believe. But other than that how could they benefit from getting the stiff? What am I missing?
