  1. On another note, I wonder how Ruth would perform against today's players.
  2. Lol. Great Hot Stove discussion.
  3. I'm against trading Buck for anyone other than Adrien Gonzalez. And only then if the Sox make another move to acquire a healthy 2-4 starting pitcher. I don't know if they have the chips for all this. But it's what I'd like to see. I don't see Buck as a #1. Not now, anyway. Maybe never. But he does have the stuff to be a very good 2-3 for years to come. From what I've seen and what I have heard from guys like Lou Merloni. Would I like to see Halladay with the Sox? You betcha! I just don't see it happening if the Sox have to extend him for 4/80. I don't believe the Sox are willing to pay that kind of money for a pitcher, regardless of his credentials, who is in his thirties. I'd rather see them extend Beckett.
  4. I think that if Talksox were to have an official drink, it would have to be named "The Shitstorm".
  5. Ruth indeed owned a home in Sudbury. Sudbury is about 25-30 northwest of Boston. Currently, there is no easy or quick way to get to and from Fenway. It takes about 45 minutes with little traffic. I wonder how difficult the commute must have been for Ruth. Especially if he was impaired.
  6. Nah. He was probably just getting some skull action and lost control of the car.
  7. I'm all excited.
  8. Signing a 34 y.o. mediocre shortstop at $9.mil/yr for two years is just plain nuts. Loosing a draft pic would make it even worse. And, if it does happen, the Sox will be paying a total of $18. mil in 2010 for the SS position. Pissah.
  9. And there are dozens of bars within walking distance of Fenway. He'd feel right at home.
  10. I read that article. But they waited too long. Why? Because they are f***ing around looking through a scrap heap to find a SS. Good luck with that.
  11. Any way you look at it, the Sox f***ed up. They are paying Lugo $9mil in 2010 to play in St Louis. Yet they would not pull the trigger on $3.mil for Gonzo? Hahahahahaha! OK.
  12. In any case, I believe the Sox dropped the ball again here. Gonzo signs for one year in Toronto? How much could it be for? Certainly not $6mil/yr. I can't understand this. I just hope we don't see Scutaro with the Sox. Epic fail.
  13. I like cheeseburgers. With bacon and mayonnaise.
  14. That's a tough call. But I think it's remarkable that Green avoided getting laid for so many years.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/columns/story?columnist=gammons_peter&id=4685067 I found this article by Gammons pretty interesting.
  16. I just want to assure members that TheMino007 is not a duplicate account of mine!:lol:
  17. Fixed that for you.
  18. Based an what I've seen of the three, I'd go with Buck. But I have a feeling Hughes may be the best choice. My opinion is slanted by having seen much more of Buck, needless to say.
  19. I don't see the Sox "going big" at SS for 2010. With that in mind, they should sign Alex Gonzalez. I just hope that Theo's hard-on for Scutero (sp) does not interfere with the decision. That would be another SS blunder.
  20. This is amazing. I am in agreement with Dojji for the second time today. Good post.
