  1. And why would the Sox let Iglesias rot on the bench when he could be in Portland playing everyday?
  2. You haven't seen the Beckett thread!
  3. I can't see the Pats wasting a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a project when they have so many immediate needs to be addressed. If he's still available in the later rounds then maybe he's worth a gamble. The Pats already have a young back-up QB who has NFL skills and is familiar with their system.
  4.:lol: Great! Now we'll have the usual two day defense of Drew as God with endless OBP, OPS, WAR, and quotes from Theo. Another thread shot to hell.
  5. Welcome to Talksox.
  6. So who's watching the game? Reddick continues to rake. Horseface looked good. Sox lead 1-0 in the top of the 5th. Paps is now on to pitch.
  7. That sounds like good news! Thanks Nate. Recovery from neurosurgery is really dicey. As Jacko said, the more you cut, the more neurons are lost. Here's hoping that he recovers well and has had minimal loss of brain function. Any input from our "resident" Doctor would be appreciated. God speed Ryan.
  8. I'd say the capacity of the venue.
  9. You're right. It was only a poor attempt at rhyming and humor. Thankfully, it was not racist.
  10. That it did. I copied/pasted an article by Bob Ryan about Conig. Oh well. It was forty - one years ago so who cares?
  11. Bill Hall and one ball. A recipe for success! Oh yes!
  12. ?:dunno: That post made no sense. Please give a URL if so inclined.
  13. No. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2006/08/18/1155906841_4583.jpg&imgref Do you love baseball? If so, read this.
  14. He's one of three outfield prospects to keep an eye on. I saw him play at Fenway last September and was impressed by his speed and athleticism. Plate discipline is the only question at this point. In my opinion. Otherwise he's Tony C. Did i just say that? Why yes. I did. Edit. Not the the power of Tony C.
  15. "sigh" - Hahahahahaha ! That's right. Everyone on Talksox bow down! . Atchinson is a nice story. Kind of like Gonzo from last year. Ultimately, no one cares about human interest stories. Too bad. Tek should surprise no one. He can still play the game. I hope there is a brawl with the Yankees and he can finish A-Rod off.
  16. Lol. Thankfully we have such mature individuals policing Talksox. I feel safe.
  17. Tazawa has time to develop. Barring several injuries to the Rotation. Bowden concerns all of us to some extent. I can't find the link, but there was an article on him in the Globe, Herald, or on ESPN Boston where he explained what happened to him last year. If I recall correctly, he said he was not prepared for relief work. He said he'd get up in the 2nd or 3rd to warm-up and then was not ready to go when called to duty innings later. Also, he said that the Sox are working with him on his mechanics. In any case this may be his last shot here. Even though he's still really young. I see him being traded at the deadline. Unless he dominates in Pawtucket. I suspect YAB has hit it on the head. AAAA and gone.
  18. Papi had two hits today including a dinger.
  19. No fun throwing a knuckler on a windy day.
  20. Is Channelopothy contagious? Seriously, I feel bad for the kid. Time to use that Stanford education.
  21. I remember that game. Gotta love Troy Brown! Lt's comments about how classless the Pats were and how it all started or came from the Coach made me laugh. f*** that little pussy. I can't wait to see him pounded into the ground if he sign with the Jets. I think he'll be mostly a non-factor.
