    I'm with you on this. Of course anyone watching should be able to see that JBJ is one very good fielder. Brooks Robinson was a Hoover. The outstanding players are easy to qualify. It's the bulk of the average type players that may be tricky to evaluate.

    Maybe you remember the discussion we all had regarding UZR about 6 years ago. Not one person could explain how the data was collected. I did my own research. I do understand that the field is divided into 72 or 78 zones or something. That's wonderful. But who or how is the plotting of the ball's trajectory, etc. determined? The best that we all could come up with is the human eye. Maybe that has changed? I don't really care about Gorilla suit antics. But I do question the accuracy and validity of UZR and any other Metric formed by subjective assessment.

    Uh, I think that you forgot about UZR. That data is subjectively compiled by the human eye. So Ted does have a point.

    Left field in NYS is larger than most so they put him there to leverage his range and arm. Right field is very small and short. Center is just average so Mookie can play there. Castillo has right quad soreness so he is out.

    Jacky Bradley is the antithesis of Hanley Ramirez in left field. The Anti-Hanley of sorts. Damn is he fun to watch.

    I'm a huge JBJ fan and I was really happy to see him rake for a month or so. But, he remains an unknown offensively. I hope he is back next year but I'm not sure that will happen.

    I don't understand your defense of this stiff. He did NOTHING to earn his pay, let alone justify his enormous contract. Word around Boston is that he just quit on the team when Dombrowski pulled him out of left. No one knows anything about this phantom right shoulder injury. Sounds like Hanley has had a Good for Hanley year as he has in the past. Make up an injury and quit. Why the Sox would want him back under any circumstances is beyond me. There is absolutely no reason to expect that he will "turn it around" next season if with the Sox. None.

    Okay call me Dojji for my unorthodox idea but I would like to see the Sox sign Lackey for 2/35-40 and then go after Price and pay him whatever it takes. It won't happen but I think Lackey has plenty left in the tank. If my idea is executed and the Sox get two or three quality arms for the pen then it would be time to que the Duck Boats!

    Of course those who know more than you or I on this board will tell you that he will definitely be much more productive next season because he has had good numbers in the past. I think the guy is a lump and should be jettisoned at great cost. Just get him out of here. And I do not believe for one f***ing minute that Dombrowski is seriously considering playing the bum at 1st next season. If he does he is a stupid team builder. I will not have anything nice to say about him thereafter.

    I realize Paps is a major idiot. But he did great things for my team and I have nothing bad to say about him except that he failed to properly bludgeon and bloody that punk Harper.
