  1. Buch is pitching. I have about 1:12 remaining until game time. Hopefully that will be sufficient time in which to remove all sharp objects from my home.
  2. I hear that! But you have scorching heat and rattle snakes!
  3. That would come down to who is available and what the needs are of the trading partner. That is a big price to pay. Too much, in my opinion.
  4. I agree with this. He should be starting the vast majority of games until he turns back into a Mendoza pumpkin.
  5. I like Leon too but you guys are on drugs if you really believe that either Vasquez or Leon is a better MLB catcher than Hannigan. Be serious. The guy knows how to handle pitchers and can make all the plays that either of the other guys. Sans hitting!
  6. I agree. The kid is a great athlete and plays hard. Good speed, good arm, can run better ( faster ) than anyone currently on the team not named Betts. He was forced into starting at catcher last year when he was at least one year off. I think he did well. Now many are poo-pooing him because he had some trouble blocking balls and dropped one pop up and of course Vasquez is the second coming of Yadier.
  7. This is how I see this. Fans get too caught up in the new shiny toy. Both of those guys must need seasoning, especially since they have not played full season ball. I never said anything like Benintendi was less than anything because of his size. I just noted that he was small ( much like Pedroia when he was drafted ).
  8. I am somewhat familiar with coastal Maine. I lived in Kenebunk one summer. I worked in York on and off for two years. I worked in Sanford for a few weeks. One of my best friends was from Camden so I went there with him a few times. My Sister owned a home in Dameriscota ( sp ) and now owns a home in New Castle. It's pretty up there.
  9. Can you tell us about the deficiencies of the two players? What did you see that says "tap the brakes" on this guy? Benintendi is small without muscularity, in my eyes. But other than that I have not seen much of him. What do you think?
  10. This team is over rated.
  11. How could I have forgotten about you?
  12. Truthfully I was not thinking about Ball. But drafting is hit or miss so I give him some slack on that I guess. On Talksox everyone seems to be in agreement that signing Buch to an extension was a "no brainer". It was a no brainer all right. Fools Gold does not morph into Gold.
  13. So you are saying between 81 and 87 wins? You and I are alone on this on Talksox.
  14. It is my opinion that we will lament trading Swihart.
  15. I have no idea if he is now a decent hitter or if he is just hot for a short while. He is a good defensive catcher. Just what Kimmi said he would be. I believe that he chose to remain with the Sox rather than go elsewhere for a possible better opportunity to play this season. I'm glad that he is here.
  16. In my opinion, blowing up a good rotation eclipsed all those deals. I have not heard one single person endorse trading Lester and Lackey away. Neither have I heard any decent explanation for why those moves were made. Yeah, the rumor that Lackey told the Sox he would not honor his contract by playing for the minimum exists as weak sauce. I lump those two trades together for their cumulative idiocy. But either stands alone as indefensible.
  17. Over exaggerating? Is that possible? Must be like re-aggravating. A sports term.
  18. Except that many fans want the Sox to go to the WS this year. That will necessitate cashing in some chips.
  19. Is he even healthy? My knock on him has been his inability to stay on the field. Of course smacking his woman around is a good reason not to have him on your team too.
  20. Same here. I think while the window seems to have closed for Brentz, he still has a major league swing. He shot himself in the leg. But I still like to see him play.
  21. Since we keep hearing these rumors about Tehran coming here I am wondering what objections ( other than an enormous cost in prospect talent ) exist. Jack Flap mentions that he has heard that Tehran's stuff may not translate to the AL / Al East. Can someone elaborate on this idea? What about his stuff / composition would be less than ideal for the Sox?
  22. I'm in for some more excretory functions. GO SOX!!!!!1!1!
  23. I was comparing the sense of relief one derives from both experiences. Don't take it personally.
