  1. With 4 outfielders plus Holt it would seem pretty easy to do.
  2. I can understand and respect this view. However, what upgrades will other teams make? What if their moves eclipse the Sox in 2017. I think stagnation is regression based on what I have seen over the years. Loosing Papi's production sets us back, too. No amount of ABs by the guys mentioned above will fully compensate for that.
  3. I spoke twice. Combine the two and I essentially said 80-86 games without an upgrade to the rotation. Of course this was before Wright was aces for 15 or so games, and Pom was traded for. I'm very glad to see that things have been working out for the better. I see no reason why the Sox can't win the East and get to the LCS. Anything can happen.
  4. Thank you Doc.
  5. I've almost always enjoyed watching the Rays play. Especially when they were trading plunks with the Sox and there were bench clearing confrontations.
  6. I do not believe that making moves to improve the roster in other areas and attempting to replace much of Ortiz's production are mutually exclusive. I was only referring to standing pat with regards to the later.
  7. You and I agree much more than you know.
  8. Yeah. Like the fact that Vaz has not hit well enough.
  9. Great minds think alike. Sort of.
  10. 1. It has been suggested that Moncada, Young , and Swihart could be the DH. That is standing pat or regressing any way you look at it. 2.. I did not suggest getting "the best FA available". 3. Yes , of course. The Sox can build the same offense as this year's by applying the "more than one way to build a rotation" philosophy. Brilliant! I say the Sox make a move.
  11. Cute anecdotes aside, why would the Sox stand still when Ortiz retires? They will be losing much of the meat of the order. That is okay if you do not plan on trying to get better or at least try to keep pace with other teams that upgrade. The question is what pieces will be brought in. I don't believe the Sox will "stand pat" this off season.
  12. I don't know why a 17 year male would have any objections to the idea of blow jobs. Especially in the way in which you referenced the subject Slash.
  13. Oh how terrible. He said dome.
  14. I love the fact that he sees so many pitches. 9 in his first AB then 8 in his second AB.
  15. Glad to hear you say that. Every time I mention that to anyone I get a five minute lecture about how talented he is. Not only is he a punk-ass, he is ugly as f*** as well. Look at those cauliflower ears. The blank expression. He looks like a second from One Flew Over The Coo Coo's Nest. Then across the diamond you have an equally unappetizing Chris Davis. Check out his mug. Of course the big wad of chew in his lower lip only enhances his neanderthal appearance. f*** they are ugly.
  16. Since when has Pedroia been one of the worst runners. News to me.
  17. Nope. Wasn't me.
  18. You need to re-prioritize young man! Start looking at the ratio of girls to boys!!! Increase the odds that you get laid soon and often! Seriously though, back in the Day the best Accounting school around was Bentley College ( now University ). I wonder if it's still good?
  19. He has 1st base written all over him.
  20. Did you see him play?
  21. I saw the 1967 season up close and Yaz was the man. But how is it that his WAR was determined? Did they have DWAR back then? I don't remember anyone mentioning advanced defensive metrics in the '60s. For those who did not see him play he was a spectacular defensive player that hit for average and power.
  22. I am suggesting Beltran as full time DH for those who don't like the idea of Hanley as DH. I don't know what he should be paid but I would lean toward a brief contract, say 2 years.
  23. Yes, he does. Taz is looking back in form as well in his most recent six outings. I say bring them both back. Although with a lesser contract for Koji.
