  1. Plus relievers are just not as good as rotation pitchers. So they tend to be more of a box of chocolates by nature.
  2. You must be wrong because the Math says so!!!!! Go take your Geritol!!!!!
  3. I nominate this as Post Of The Year!!!!
  4. fer shur
  5. I hope Ross goes yard.
  6. Holy f***ing s***!!!! 6-5 Cubs!!!!!!
  7. This is what playoff baseball should look like. Not the abortion that we just witnessed.
  8. Yes. Good points.
  9. This team is not as good as the 2013 team. It has tremendous upside but not as much finish. 2017 and 2018 they have to be better.
  10. Cubs are saying not tonight bitches. 5-1. Still no outs!
  11. Good theater and I am not biting my nails.
  12. I somehow missed that. I really like Theo but his team is being outplayed and out coached big time. I think a Giants / Jays or Guardians series would be great.
  13. Theo has to be s***ing bricks. Pun intended. I crack myself up sometimes. Someone remind me why we ended up with soft toss Pom Pom when the Giants went out and got Matt Moore? Yeah, I know teams don't like to trade within their division. Still, the Sox are loaded with young cheap talent and have tons of spare useless parts laying around that they could have shipped off to the Rays without damaging the core of the team. Anyways, I have been hoping for a Cubs / Guardians World Series and I generally loathe all things California but now I kind of like seeing the Giants hand it to the Cubs who seem to have institutionalized losing big games. Also, has it occurred to anyone else that Hunter Pence looks like a cross between a homeless man and the Uni-bomber? Hell of a ball player, though. One last thing. It was so much like old times seeing Lackey ( who I have always liked as a pitcher ) "Horseface" yell "f***" on the mound. I guess non-Sox baseball can be fun to watch. This game has been great.
  14. All of these are plausible.
  15. Papi laced Price's and Porcello's Poweraid with ludes. It all Papi' fault!
  16. Dombrowski just told the media that Farrell will be back in 2017. Good.
  17. Who's hating on Grady? He f***ed up and got canned. He probably was not a good choice to manage this team in the first place.
  18. On the other hand JBJ is young, very athletic, and pretty smart. He could settle in as a good bat.
  19. Meh. This would only forestall a needed upgrade at 3rd.
  20. As I said, it may have had a lot to do with plans and timing. Fatboy sucked in 2015 and Hanley was "injured" and sent home late last year. Fatboy was the 3rd baseman designate in 2016 ST and the sucked ass. All the while Hanley was slotted to play 1st and was being trained to do so. And of course, the Sox in all their wisdom, signed both Hanley and Fatboy at about the same time. At that point which one would seem to be the best suited to play 3rd?
  21. I'm with you Nick. Even though I believe that all athletic catchers with strong hitting tools should be moved to another position ( like 1st or 3rd ) to safeguard there body and maximize their output. And to the rest of you, yes, I do realize that a hitting catcher is very valuable.
  22. Not so sure about this Doj. Isn't the Left, non-throwing, shoulder Hanley's problem? He seems to have decent mobility at 1st. I see no reason to expect a dramatic drop-off at third. I think the fact that Hanley settled into 1st base has more to do with plans that had been made and the timing of Fatboy's most recent flop at 3rd than with his inability to play 3rd. But I could be wrong. Like everyone else here. Even if I am wrong, the Sox still have Shaw, Hernandez, and Holt to split duties at 3rd and 1st, LF, and DH to be shared by EE, Hanley, and Beltran. My idea is valid unless someone can prove definitely otherwise.
  23. Pedro was getting hit hard the previous inning. Loud outs and high pitch count. Grady f***ed up. Believing anything else is revisionist.
  24. The Sox two best starters s*** the bed at the worse possible time and the bats faced good pitching. s*** happens.
  25. Meh. I say go big or go home. This team is close to being a champion so why wait and for what? Sign EE AND Beltan. Move Hanley to 3rd, put EE at 1st, and have Beltran DH. Obviously money will now have to be spent. I have no problem with that. The junk bond cadaver still has plenty after foolish investments in never will be talents and bloated 3 WAR players. Gather the usual mid relief schlock and throw a bunch of them at the wall. Someone is bound to stick. That's the way relievers are. Jettison useless crap like Hill and retain both Koji and Taz. Done. That was simple. No need to agonize over anything.
