  1. I'm with you on this. The Cubs could still win it. I seriously doubt that they can win 3 in a row from this Guardians team. They just win. And at a fraction of the cost of the Sox roster.
  2. Ugh-oh. Jon Boy better be sharp tomorrow night. The Cubs have no Bartman to blame this year. GO TITO!!!1!!!
  3. So when Leon started to rake he should have been sat down in favor of one of the rookies you all love so much. Sound reasoning.
  4. So now the Coroner's report shows his alcohol level almost twice the legal limit and significant Cocaine in his system. This was predictable, given where and how he crashed. Still sad, though.
  5. Me too. People around here have tainted Swihart's value over time. "He sucks defensively". He has no power". Lol. He played decent defense in 2014 when he was called-up prematurely. Granted his blocking skills were lacking but overall he did well enough to be the guy. And he made progress with his bat. He finished strong after getting off to a slow start. People have a memory of convenience. And people will believe what they hear and read if they see it enough. Assuming Swihart makes a full and unimpeded recovery from his broken foot and operation, he will be one of the best young players on the field given the chance. I hope that this chance comes with the Sox.
  6. You are not alone Brother.
  7. He is 3 years older than his 3 WAR days. He is a lot fatter. He has a damaged shoulder. His name is mud in this town. Showing up fat will perpetuate his problems when most of it could be avoided if he was much slimmer and in good game shape. As I said. Dumb.
  8. And while on this subject I will inject that to the naked eye he may have looked as though he had lost weight while working out with the varsity this fall. Looks can be deceiving. Morbidly obese people can lose a lot of weight without looking significantly different. At the same time, they can lose a lot of weight and remain morbidly obese and way out of shape. He still looked like Fatboy to me this fall. He needs to show up in ST early with his weight hovering around 220 lbs ACTUAL ( not just reported in the media ) to be in close to game shape. Of course there are those among us who will tell you that he played 3 WAR ball in SF at a higher weight. That is just dumb. He needs to get into acceptable shape to play 2016 in Boston or he needs to take a permanent hike.
  9. Cespedes is "Me me me". He is not what I see as a high character guy. I think it would be a bad fit here in Boston. He did not want to be here the first time. Let him rot in Queens.
  10. I'm guessing your concern centers around which choices DD makes for replacements? So far he has promoted guys from within, I think. Let's hope they carry over at least some of the knowledge and mindset of the Theo and even Ben years. I think while DD is a big name exec, the ownership will require certain aspects of the former regime remain. Who knows? My Immediate concern is continuity of effort. I hope that things continue to get done.
  11. I've only been aware of this problem since he went to the Cubs. I never noticed this when he was on the Sox. Strange.
  12. Lol. It's only baseball.
  13. What was I to glean from that? I honestly do not know. Iggy is inconsequential? He is so poorly valued by his manager that he may not play much in favor of another poor performer?
  14. I don't remember you mentioning Iggy at all. And I love the bolded line. Lol.
  15. Yup. And the Cubs have to face the best pitcher in baseball today. If the Cubs do prevail in this series, they will have earned it. I do dislike the Dodgers but they have played good ball and are game.
  16. I'm with Dewey on this.
  17. True. However they lost eight of the last nine. In total, that was not a short series. That is a good sample size. They were out pitched and out played. At a very visible time of year.
  18. Don't forget Brad Mills!!!!!
  19. I never liked that trade. Many justify it as Peavey "stabilizing the rotation'. Nonsense. He sucked.
  20. How much time did he lose with the micro-fractures? How did his attitude become such an issue?
