  1. Who here really believes that a meaningful upgrade from Farrell can happen? As in Joe XYZ gets hired and the team becomes much better on the field. I get why some don't care for Farrell and that Managers are "fungible". I just don't see a change makings such a difference to be worthwhile. Now if he had a river of powder going up his nose like Klel that would be another matter.
  2. Cora is just about universally admired in Boston and all the players love him. Other than no MLB managing experience there is no downside to hiring him. I also like the way he is articulate in two languages. That can't hurt.
  3. Betts. But we are a much better team with both guys.
  4. How is $14. mil saved? I am not doubting you. I just don't understand.
  5. As much as I would like to say bye bye to Hanley, this makes sense.
  6. This reminds me of Money Ball where Been is sitting with his scouts and they are talking about how a player "looks". Yeah, Devers does look like he has a "soft" body. This leads some here to believe that he will pork out and become another Fatboy Pablow. What happens if he does not? Is it possible that he becomes closer to Beltre? He has good foot speed and agility now. Is it possible that as he matures his body weight stays more or less the same and his skills do not diminish significantly? I'd leave him where he is until such point that he "grows out of" the position. He is 20. No need to make rash decisions. I see him cleaning up his throws ( he does have a strong arm already ) and becoming a really solid defensive 3rd baseman.
  7. Yup. Still, I would not be surprised if the Sox resign the guy.
  8. Manny too. He used to f*** with pitchers when he was motivated.
  9. Do you still see that Yankees in on Harper when the time comes?
  10. So it is not a position where 30-40 HR power is essential. I look at the aggregate. Add 40-50 with Stanton. Done deal.
  11. I never suggested trading either Beni or Bogey. My idea replaces a spectacular defensive outfielder with a spectacular offensive outfielder. I do love and value JBJ but you have to give to get in this case.
  12. This is somewhat similar to the Sox / ARod fiasco.
  13. This is obvious to anyone that looks closely.
  14. That is not what I said. Although I did not explain myself. "sign JD Martinez and Duda to squeeze HRam under 497 PAs and no 2019 vesting $22M option." That is the dumb part. I have nothing against getting Martinez if he can play everyday. He is a little long in the tooth and is not ideal but if he is all DD can come up with then I can live with it. Do yourself a favor and look at his career history. He is what can be called a "late bloomer". I don't see how anyone would want that guy over Stanton all things considered.
  15. The only problem here is it would create a vacuum in LF and SS. Who replaces those two guys?
  16. I don't agree. If he has those two wounded shoulders I don't see him rebounding to his career norms or being a good value. And as far as my lame-ass idea of trading or getting rid of one of our best HR hitters is concerned, have you compared his 2017 offensive numbers with the guy you are so quick to release, Mitch Moreland? Moreland had only one HR less than Hanley yet had superior numbers in every offensive category except SB where Hanley had a whopping 1. Hanley cost $22. mil., Moreland $5.5 mil. Your idea that I want to get rid of a valuable HR guy is plain stupid when compared to your insistence of getting rid of Moreland. Logic fail.
  17. You can answer this vital question by looking their stats. I am not against getting JD Martinez. I just see Stanton providing more of what this team needs for more years.
  18. Lol. You are not alone.
  19. You should keep posting. If for no other reason I will have no Jets fans to make fun of!
  20. I can understand that too. But you have a good heart and you can be really insightful and funny. No one will be grading you on initiating conversations with girls so if you can gather a little courage and just start practicing I am confident that you will see that it becomes easier. Just be kind, thoughtful and cute. Soon you will be brimming with confidence. I am sure that there are girls who have noticed you already. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. You''l be fine.
  21. His game awareness and understanding of Newton's third law are questionable at best. "But he is only 23".
  22. I can understand your point. You just need to be confident and make yourself available. There are tons of young women who would love to spend time with you because most young guys are f***ing ass holes.
  23. Did you see that strong throw he made to the Houston dugout? She was a bute!
