  1. I love when the Heat lose.
  2. I don't think it was Colorado. He played for Detroit and Texas at the beginning of his career before he ever played for the Rockies. I think that he had three years with 14+ homers. He had those three years where he hit those home runs in his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years as a player. Nava has had 10 homers in three of the years he has played in the minors.
  3. I don't want the loser back, but he is looking at a possible return this year. I do not know if they are going to give him a shot, but I am assuming that he will because he is making $6 million this year. I wonder what kind of impact the DUI will have on him and this team. It is possible that he doesn't even get a chance, but he is looking to be healthy at some point this season.
  4. Also, with Ellsbury coming back mid-June, here are some other injury updates. Kalish- possible June return. He would probably start out in the minors. Crawford- possibly in July around the All-Star Break. Cook- possibly at the end of this month. Bailey- possibly in August. Carpenter- possibly in June. Jenks- possible return right after the All-Star Break in July. McDonald- the end of this month. Youkilis- any day now. Matsuzaka- soon, but playing time in majors depends on how well he progresses in AAA. These are just estimates and can change due to setbacks.
  5. I think the earliest he can return is June 13th. He was transferred from the 15 day DL to the 60 day DL a couple of days ago. Hopefully he will be ready to return right around that time.
  6. It doesn't take much. Hopefully he can get it down to a 2.00 something or a low 3.00 and keep it there.
  7. Agreed! Definitely what we needed from our "Ace." Hopefully he can keep this up on a consistent basis.
  8. Great outing. What is that from our starters, only six runs given up during our four game win streak? Not to mention only three runs given up by our starters during the last three games. That is solid. Great outing by Lester tonight. Hopefully this gets us on a role. We need Beckett to have a better night tomorrow night than he did in his last start.
  9. I agree. That was a big boost. When your team is 12-19 and you have been struggling all year, any time you take 3 out of 4 is huge. If we win today, we will be 16-19. That number looks a lot better than if we lost the series to Cleveland. We are still under that 20 loss mark.
  10. I hope Lester can finish this game strong. He has had a hell of a game so far. Two nights off for our set-up men and closer. One night off for the entire pen looks possible. I am loving this win streak. When this team is hot they are a great team. I know the Mariners and Guardians are not the toughest teams, but we need any help that we can get right now. If we play good tomorrow and come up with another victory, then we are riding a five game win streak heading into a two game series against the Rays. We would have a lot of momentum. This is definitely exciting to see the Sox play this good. Now time to get above .500 and get on a hot streak.
  11. Damn, we are hitting a lot of deep fly balls. This could be bad if they continue to leave Vargas in. This almost looks like batting practice.
  12. Ells cannot return until June 13th at the earliest according to the report on NESN. He got moved to the 60 day DL.
  13. You're joking, right? We used Hill, Albers, and Atchison today. The important thing is that we got Padilla, Miller, and Aceves days off. A reliever should be able to pitch one inning on back-to-back days. That is not burning out the bullpen. I could understand your argument if the same pitchers were used in 5 or 6 straight games, but that is not the case. I think V does have a little bit of a different approach to the bullpen than Tito did. It is common sense that on blowout games that you are going to use pitchers like Albers and in close games that you are going to use your set-up guys and closer. If you think that is why Bobby V uses his bullpen similar to the way Francona did, then you are correct because that is usually how 100% of managers use their bullpen.
  14. I can settle for the one run. It could have been a lot worse.
  15. I am kind of concerned if Papi's leg is okay. He fouled that ball off of his leg and took a super slow jog to first on that ground out.
  16. Welcome to the Circus! First act, Ryan Sweeney. haha, great catch by Sweeney. That sun is hard to battle sometimes.
  17. This is the Boston Red Sox team that I know and that I love. Great start. All of these runs are coming on two outs.
  18. Hell of a start Bard. 7 pitch, 1, 2, 3 inning.
  19. I work at 4, so I should catch at least the first part of this game. I hope we can get another W today. We could really use it and go on a hot streak here.
  20. I know he has not been too good this year, but he is not a bad reliever. He will get better as the year goes on. I think he can be one of our more reliable relievers.
  21. What's wrong with Padilla? I like Padilla and Morales as our set-up guys. I am still uncertain with Aceves, but I think he can get by as a closer short-term. I am going to be happy when Bailey comes back. That means we have Hill, Bailey, Aceves, Padilla, Morales, and Miller in the pen. That is not too bad. Also, Melancon might get another shot. I don't really want him in late inning situations as a closer or set-up guy, but he might not be a bad option for the 6th or 7th inning. We also have Mortenson, Albers, and Tazawa that can provide some depth. I kind of like the options that we have in the pen. If they perform the way they can, then they will be perfectly fine. If our pitching fulfills expectations, then this is a team that can potentially make a legitimate run to compete for the AL East.
  22. Miller has pitched 5 scoreless innings this year so far. I like his role in the pen. Hopefully he can keep this up.
