Dice-K had a decent outing last time around. Hopefully he can perform well. We need to show this Parker how to hit a baseball. Please no Lillibridge in the lineup. I cannot stand to watch this guy swing the bat. He is even worse than Byrd was. Send his ass to AAA. We traded Youk because we had Middlebrooks and he wasn't producing offensively, and we get stuck with someone even worse. Why he is not in the minors blows my mind. Ells, Crawford, Pods, and Sweeney need to come back so we can get this guy off the 25 man roster.

Glad to see us get away with this win. There are a couple of areas for concern for me, especially with Doubront. I am sure it was stated at some point in this thread, but I do not feel like reading 20+ pages. Doubront has pitched more innings this year than any other year in his career. I know a question is if the fatigue is finally starting to settle in. The starting pitching is going to have to get figured out with seven candidates. Morales is doing good. Cook did great in his last start. Dice-K was decent in his last start. Doubront is looking more and more fatigued. Beckett and Lester have been up and down this year. Buchholz has been solid before he got sick. What to do with the starting rotation? I like the options we have. I hope Morales sticks in the rotation. I hope Dice-K goes. Maybe we can trade him for a reliever or someone, but we might have to DFA him. The decisions with the outfield and rotation are going to be tough to make. Let's just hope we make the right decisions.

Didn't get a chance to post in the game thread, but I did see the game. Amazing performance by Aaron Cook, both him and Morales had solid performances the last two nights. The six man rotation might actually be a better idea than I thought. Dice-K only gave up one his last start, Morales gave up none, and Cook gave up none. That is something that is shocking to me. Hopefully they can keep this up. Lester needs to take note. Beckett and Doubront need to do their thing and get us the final two wins in the series.

I really like these late games, because I usually work at night. I worked 7-3 today, I have a baseball game tonight at 7 and then I get to come home in time to watch the game at 10.

A pizza is always good to order to watch the game. It is fast and will fill you.

Never mind about Ellsbury. I heard that he is going to single A.

I am thinking about going to the GCL Red Sox game tomorrow at 12 to see if Crawford is playing since he is supposed be because of his rehab assignment. I am also thinking about going Saturday at 10 to see a game to see if Ellsbury is playing. It should be interesting to watch them during their rehab.

I agree. Pedroia needs to be in the lineup. He has struggled prior to the last three games, but I think it is his time to break out. I think Pedroia will be fine. He is still young and plays hard. I think Big Papi will be around. I think this should be their team together. We may disagree there, but I don't think the FO let's Big Papi play somewhere else until he retires. He has been a big part of our success this year. He has already hit 20 homers if I remember correctly not even at the halfway point. He is on pace to hit 40 this year. Big Papi still has a good bat. I think both have what it takes to be leaders on this team. Big Papi is really respected in the clubhouse. I think this is Pedroia's team. If we did have a captain, it would probably be Dustin. I think Pedroia will be around for years to come and will be productive.

This is a crazy debate. Anyone with some common sense knows that Bard's struggles have to do somewhat with his mentality. He was put into a tough situation. He was thrown into the starting role and he failed. He was an elite reliever and now he is struggling with his control. The failure as a starting pitcher has to have an impact on him psychologically. He wouldn't be human if it didn't. Even if he doesn't want to admit it, it does have an impact. I think Bard is good enough and tough enough to work through this and get back to becoming a reliable reliever. He can take as much time as he needs in AAA.

Three game hitting streak for Pedroia. Six hits during those three games, including a double, triple, two RBI's, two walks, and an OBP of .533. He is definitely performing better in these last three games. Hopefully he can keep it up.

The game should still be 5-2 if it weren't for Cano and Tex making costly errors. Tex's was questionable, but he should have been playing deeper with two outs.

I was reading the message boards over at redsox.com and some of the comments there are ridiculous. There seems to be a split of people praising BC and complaining about BC. Yes, Youk was once a gold glover and has won two WS with the Red Sox. That does not have any impact on how much he has sucked this year. Just because he was good in the past does not mean that we should expect more in return. The facts are that he has struggled this year and that he has been injury prone. Some people that call themselves fans over there amaze me.

That is very true and a good point. If they for some reason make the WC over us, then this trade will be looked at as a failure on Cherington's part. He should have been traded to the NL. I am wondering if Stewart and Lillibridge were really the best two players that teams offered us. The other teams must have offered us complete garbage. These two guys are already pretty bad as it is. Let's just hope that the White Sox cannot make the playoffs.

I didn't think we would get anything good in return for Youk. I also figured that we would have to eat the majority of his contract. He is injury prone and he has struggled this year offensively. There was not much we could do in this situation. We needed to trade him to allow Middlebrooks to start 3B regularly. The only bad thing about this trade is that Youk could possibly go to the White Sox, stay healthy, and contribute enough for them to make a run at the WC. The upside is that we do not have to play Gonzalez in the OF and Middlebrooks can now take over 3B full time. This got rid of a huge problem. I am not happy with what we got in return. I honestly was just hoping for one decent prospect that has a little potential. There is an upside to both Stewart and Lillibridge, but I really hope both go to AAA at some point. Cherington got the job done. We all knew Youk was getting traded for almost nothing. Maybe Lillibridge or Stewart can somehow have some sort of positive impact with this team in the future. I am not banking on that. I fully expected that we were going to get nothing in return, and those who expected more should not have. No one should be disappointed with this. This was the best decision for Youk and for this organization.

I noticed he has the clean shave look going on, as well as the socks showing. He is going Pods style on us. Although, I am used to him with facial hair, so he looks a lot younger. He usually lets the beard grow out for a while then shaves it.

Meanwhile why the Red Sox are beasting it at Fenway, Daniel Bard pitched 1.2 innings for Pawtucket giving up a hit and three walks. He didn't give up any runs, but those walks need to go.
