  1. This game is painful to watch.
  2. Tomorrow will mark the first time in which 2 brothers will face each other in the World Cup. One brother plays for Ghana while the other is playing for Germany. They are currently not speaking to one another. http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/news/world-cup-brings-feuding-brothers-together--fbintl_ro-boatengs062110.html
  3. The US should have 3 points, not 4, because if you add the goal vs. Slovenia, you should take away the "goal" vs. England, and the USA would be left with 3 points (instead of their 2 points or their 4 points if both situations went in the US's favour.
  4. So you have 1 goal in your pool? At least Algeria is facing the US, so they might have a shot at scoring their first WC goal.
  5. I can't believe that he has 121 wins, and less than 100 losses.
  6. Bye Bye France!!!!
  7. I've been surprised with some of the weak play of European teams (Italy, France, England, and Spain early on) as two of those teams were in the finals of the 2006 World Cup, and two other European teams (Germany and Portugal) finished 3rd and 4th. I'm equally surprised with the good play of the South American countries. We all knew that Brazil and Argentina were good, but Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile have pleasantly surprised me. There are only 5 South American countries in this World Cup, and they are all currently winning their groups. Uruguay is atop group A, Argentina atop group B, Paraguay atop group F, Brazil atop group G, and Chile atop group H.
  8. I heard somewhere that the World Cup officials paid a bunch of Chinese people to act like North Korean supporters just so that the North Koreans would appear to have some support at the World Cup, and thus appear as part of the world afterall.
  9. Switzerland had a tough red card call against them, but are still tied with Chile (and Chile scores as I type this, although it was offsides) and the interesting stat is that Switzerland have gone nearly 550 World Cup minutes without conceding an in game goal. I believe that the last goal that Switzerland gave up in regulation play was in the 1994 World Cup. Edit: Now Switzerland has the record for most consecutive World Cup minutes without allowing a (non-penalty kick) goal.
  10. And sorry Diony, that trade doesn't make sense for me. To be honest, I think it doesn't help either of us.
  11. God damn it Suns. Because of Dan Bard getting a cheap save the other day and going 1.1 innings tonight, you beat me by 1 save, and you won WHIP 1.151 to 1.152. You were .002 from losing 9-1.
  12. Wow. Dan Bard is the one thing preventing me from beating Suns 10-0 this week.
  13. He has a point, I mean where would one rather be?
  14. I'm just watching a Futurama marathon. Although I'm happy I didn't start Kuroda tonight.
  15. Good luck this week Dipre.
  16. Unless you're an Azzurri supporter.
  17. This is a disgrace, Italy drawing with New Zealand. Italy, France, and England have all been embarrassing thus far.
  18. Double win mojo, I like it.
  19. They do, and it's embarrassing. They're as bad as the French.
  20. It did, however, it hit off a NZ player, then an Italy player, and then went to the NZ player for the goal. When it first went off the NZ player, the other NZ player was offsides. Had it only touched the Italy player, then it would not have been offsides. Oh well, Italy equalises on an equally questionable penalty.
  21. So who makes the gamethread today, Yeszir or VA?
  22. It doesn't help that the goal shouldn't have counted because the New Zealand guy was offsides, but since it wasn't called I guess it doesn't matter now.
  23. And New Zealand takes a 1-0 lead on Italy. If Italy loses to New Zealand, they should just leave South Africa now. I can't believe that they almost lost to Paraguay in the first round, but this would be even worse.
