  1. Also as a reminder, this is the LAST matchup where people can vote for their own teams. When we get to the final four, teams will not be able to vote for their own teams.
  2. Can I cast my vote for Ross Perot?
  3. Yep, it's decided, we're waiting on Ytrb to start the next matchup.
  4. Now does the waiver wire open?
  5. I hope that I didn't miss anyone better that's available (or already taken), but since Youker is destined for a bottom seed, I don't think that it's of a large importance at this point. Anyway, my picks for his team are Kelly Gregg DT Clint Session OLB Israel Idonije DE Ben Grubbs LG
  6. Got it, I'm on it, I'll have them sometime today.
  7. I just wanted to make sure of that before we started the next set matchup. We didn't want to start the next one while this one was still going.
  8. This is a work in progress. We learned a lot from the baseball draft (although many of the teams here weren't a part of it) and we're learning a lot here that we can implement for the football draft.
  9. I agree with you on the not having teams vote for themselves rule. I just meant that technically, every team did have a say in the matter when it came to the power rankings. We all agreed that after the next vote (you vs. ytrb) that teams will not be allowed to vote for their team.
  10. Kilo, I was mainly responding to YH. And yes, I did watch the Rondo vs. Westbrook matchup. I was also excited for Blake Griffin dunking on the Knicks.
  11. One problem I have with this is that everyone DID vote when they did the power rankings. That's why WhiskeyBreath's team was voted #1 and Coco's team was voted #9 (although in all fairness, I had him 4th). Similarly, my team was ranked 2nd and YH's team was ranked 7th. Even though not everyone voted directly on the matchup, everyone did the power rankings, and most people must have thought that WhiskeyBreath had a great team if he was power ranked first. The only exception would be if ytrb played with the power rankings, but I doubt that would be the case if his team was 5th.
  12. I honestly don't see it, but you're both entitled to your opinions. I also think that YH has an underrated team, and that it CAN be a top team, but it would take more than 3 years for YH's team to be able to beat my team, Whiskey's team, JBay's team, Ytrb's team, or even your team Kilo. I would be surprised if any of the games in the series are within single digits.
  13. It was established a few posts ago that this will be the LAST round in which teams can vote for themselves. So once it gets to the final four, teams cannot vote for themselves. Anyways, while the deciding vote was technically cast by one of the teams in this thing (Whiskey), the other team (Coco) had also voted for himself.
  14. Only if you vote for him, because I believe it's 3-0 Jbay. I think this next matchup is going to be the grudge match that's been anticipated (by me atleast) since the beginning, the 4 vs. 5.
  15. Jbay, just for the record, starting in the next round, teams will not be able to vote for themselves. I'm saying this now because I don't think you were around in the other thread when we made it official.
  16. I got Jbay's team here. I truly believe that his team is a top team and that his starting 5 is very balanced. I think that boston22407's team is very disorganised and he is very weak at the front court. Oden is one of the only injury cases I'd bring up, even though we aren't supposed to mention injuries. Dwight Howard can destroy Kaman and Oden all day (just don't ask him to shoot free throws). Boston22407 has some very good players, but I think that Jbay has the better team. It's a shame though because if boston22407 worked all of the kinks out, he'd have a shot at winning.
  17. I got my team in this one. I think that YH's team is underrated and that it will be a very good team in 3 years, however, I don't see it being a championship level team for another few years after that. I think that YH's team would struggle against WB's team, my team, Jbay's team, Ytrb's team, and even Kilo's team. I think that YH relies a lot on potential, whereas my team is A LOT more talented and has some young players with potential. I think that I have one of the best starting 5's in this thing, and one of the best backcourts with Rondo and Wade. In addition, while my center spot is the weakpoint now, I think that Griffin and Hibbert have the power to be a championship frontcourt for a long time, especially considering that some of his frontcourt players are "soft", like Aldridge and Bargnani, while his other 2 aren't very good offensively (Chandler and Varejao). I have key role players on the bench, many of which are key starters on their respective teams. In addition, my wild card is in my opinion, one of the best 3 point shooters in the game with Kyle Korver. Not to mention that in addition to YH's question marks in terms of talent and potential (as in terms of development) we don't even know if Ricky Rubio is going to be playing in the NBA in 3 years time. I think that my team has the better backcourt, frontcourt, bench, and wildcards in this one. That said, YH does have a good team and in many years has the potential to be a top team here, just not in 3 years.
  18. I think that it's a good idea to be able to vote for your team in the early rounds, just because most of them are reasonably easy to decide, and that speeds up the process. However, on the other hand, we don't really want the finals to be decided by people voting for their own team, so I think that after this round (which would leave the final 4 I think) would be a great time to disable voting for your own team.
  19. Would we get enough votes in then? Besides, it does equal itself out.
  20. WhiskeyBreath better log on soon or else he might get upset.
  21. Not to mention, I find it hilarious that after voting for your team to beat Coco in the first round, you then voted for Coco's team in the 2nd round to beat WhiskeyBreath's team, who was selected as the #1 ranked team. So you wouldn't vote for Coco against your team, but you think his team is good enough to beat the best team in the league? And after thinking that Coco's 9th ranked team is good enough to beat the #1 seed, you imply that you got screwed when you lost to his team? Are you familiar with the robot saying, "DOES NOT COMPUTE"
  22. I wouldn't go that far Flynnatic, you had a good team, but since you were 8th, you went against the 9th ranked team which meant that both your team and Coco's team were closely ranked, which made it a closer matchup, which came down to a vote here or there, rather than the #5 vs #12 matchup which was ytrb vs. youker. Your team was probably a bit underrated, but I would hardly say that you got screwed, ESPECIALLY when there are bigger examples of people getting absolutely shafted in these things.
  23. I think that Whiskey's team was power ranked at the top for a reason. I feel that he has a top team in the league that is incredibly deep and balanced. Coco has some very good players, but I think he has to rely on a lot of maturity and development in order to have a great team, whereas WhiskeyBreath's team already has it. They both have stronger frontcourts than backcourts, but I'd almost take WB's starting lineup in a sweep over Coco's, except for maybe Collison vs. Stuckey. Granted, I'd say that Ellis is more talented than Ginobili, but I think that Ginobili is a much better rounded, balanced, and reliable player than Ellis, and that Ginobili is a better fit for the team. I like Coco's team alot, that's why I ranked him 4th in the power rankings, but I had WhiskeyBreath's team on top, because I truly believe that his team is the team that other teams will have to try and beat, and that only 1-2 teams can potentially beat his. I just think that there are too many question marks on Coco's team that would have to work in his favour if he's going to have a shot at beating WhiskeyBreath.
  24. I'm not sure. I'm not in a hurry since most of us are doing the NBA voting as we speak. I'd prefer to get this started once the NBA voting is finished. That would give Youker time to makeup picks, and it would give people time to update the chart and their respective clubhouses, which would give the people here ample time to make their power rankings. I think that the power rankings here would be much a harder/longer process than the NBA one.
