  1. useless ? why is it wrong to think once he loses a step he can still hit close to 300 with some LH power in the stadium
  2. Mark Feinsand @FeinsandNYDN24s The Yankees' deal with Ellsbury is done, pending a physical. I'm told the contract is bigger than Crawford's 7 year/$142M deal
  3. I thought you were nuts fred Yankees Closing In On Deal With Jacoby EllsburyBy Zach Links [December 3 at 7:19pm CST] The Yankees are closing in on a seven-year deal with Jacoby Ellsbury, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. "It could happen," someone familiar with the talks told Heyman. It is believed the deal would top Carl Crawford's $142MM, seven-year deal. ESPN's Jayson Stark reported on Monday that talks were moving faster than expected for the Scott Boras client.
  4. could they actually be learning...................................na ;-)
  5. Details of Brian McCann’s vesting option By Mike Axisa Finally, we have the details of Brian McCann‘s vesting option, courtesy of Joel Sherman. The option for 2019 is worth $15M and vests with a) 1,000 plate appearances from 2017-2018, 90 games as a catcher in 2018, and c) if he’s not on the DL at the end of 2018. All of those conditions must be met. If the option vests, McCann can void it and become a free agent. For all intents and purposes, McCann must still be a starting catcher in 2018 for the option to kick in. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
  6. not sure what I believe, just having fun fred I'm doing alright other than not being able to sleep because of fear that cano going to boston and elsbury coming here ;-)
  7. click on for larger pic
  8. damn if you guys sign cano does that mean we are stuck with elsbury sox get the better player but wouldn't be laughing
  9. heard he was having lunch with Matsuzaka & matsui I wonder what they will tell him I think he's related to kuroda
  10. no doubt jeet where tanaka ends up will be huge TUESDAY: Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports tweets that MLB and NPB officials are meeting today to discuss the new posting system. Baseball America's Ben Badler adds that teams are operating under the assumption that an agreement will be reached, and Tanaka will be available (Twitter link). Badler feels some news will be announced in the near future.
  11. sorry jeets, not sure if it's true but that's the story your buddy mike was selling on wfan
  12. the only players to have signed this early have been seriously overpaid at this point I would have to question what I thought seriously overpaid was IMO it's just the cost of doing business in the FA world
  13. it seems like all the SP's are waiting for tanaka to be signed anyone who wants the yankees in the conversation should wait
  14. I don't think you heard rumors more like a writer having fun with his ideas http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/yankees/post/_/id/67124/cameron-sabathia-for-kemp sure would help the sooner the posting for tanaka can get started so which SP would you trade if you got tanaka
  15. I think the yankee pitching looks fine............................................. for nov if kuroda comes back adding tanaka and a FA like garza should put them in a very good spot Bcash has already said he planned to add 400 quality innings a long road back ha they were in the alcs last yr
  16. There is no coincidence that the only two seasons we haven't made the playoffs this century, we had no stability at catcher (2008 Posada was hurt). interesting point let RSN chirp away bottom line we are a better team tonight Andy McCullough ‏@McCulloughSL One evaluator on McCann: "He's made for New York." Scouts gushing about how his swing will play in Yankee Stadium. Pete Abraham It's almost hard to explain how much of an upgrade this is for the Yankees offensively compared to last year. About as good as it gets.
  17. while there is some truth there there was a lot more truth there a few yrs ago not just the 189 talk but there is so much money out there from other teams as far as the arod mess goes I think the yanks will act on what the arbitrator rules IMO the odds of the court overuling the arbitrator are slim to none
  18. great job explaining it I just wish it didn't make so much sense can't knock them for wanting to do it sales will definitely take a hit I wonder how News Corporation feels about it and if they have a voice
  19. no doubt a huge power shortage in ny but I don't see why U R doubting grandersons return we aren't talkin about a wrist or hand IMO that's a huge difference more good news is that it happened so early plus this should cut down on his K's ;-)
  20. a good deal of false information going out about definitely the understatement of the yr FWIW B4 this week I was under the impression with these long contracts you could only insure a guy 3 or 4 years at a time like U said it still doesn't explain the ''85% for all years'' especally considering he already had hip issues but I'm guessing if one is willing to pay enough one can get coverage for most anying interesting to find out (read only once) durring the napoli saga sox don't insure their players
  21. LMAO I can't believe I made that typo ok I can't believe I didn't catch that typo obviously I meant big Bat
  22. interesting thoughts about Mesa unless he has a big spring, even then, I think it's best for him to play everyday and bring him up when some one goes on the DL and give him a steady chance at that point less pressure for him and he stays sharp Ibanez doesnt have a spot right now and to commit resources to him as a DH isnt prudent either not sure what you mean about ibanez who do you see as our DH at this point.....nunez FT? how much do we care about the resourses if we can get him on a 1 yr deal ?
  23. I felt alot better about gardner & Ichiro in the same OF B4 we lost martin & arod add swisher, chavez ,ibanez to that and we have lost a lot of power
  24. so what do you guys say about dempster ? I think most would rather have sanchez that might be the understatement of the yr ;-) but after that I figure the rest, demster, Marcum, Jackson & Lohse were all pretty much a crap shoot so the sox picked dempster over the rest for depth seems reasonable enough if you can keep sanchez out of the conversation bottom line they are a better team with dempster
