  1. Less of a demand for new managers around the league. I think they are going to pick the entire coaching staff before anything is announced. A move for Beltran may happen sooner.
  2. Tek would be a horrible manager for this team. He's not a leader. He didn't call anyone out last year. In fact, CC called him out. He's just not a leader. Also, SBF needs to step down from the ledge. I'm not sure you understand how the offseason works. No team is "wheeling and dealing" right now. Things take time. I'd rather the Sox be patient and find the right people rather than get another Lackey. They shouldn't jump into FA just to appease fans.
  3. Last time the Sox won the series, Coco was being benched for Ellsbury.
  4. This contradicts your Jed Lowrie crush.
  5. I like Sandy Alomar or Tony Pena.
  6. Joe Morgan still available?
  7. No kidding. I was pointing out the falacy of the Pedro was frail/Lincecum is frail argument. He held up fine. Had rotator cuff surgery. Still pitched into his 30's. Body type tells little about the length of a pitcher's career. It'd be like trading for Pedro in 1998.
  8. If JH picks the manager, then Cherington should just find another job. JH doesn't know jackson about running a team (see his appearance on felgie anx mazz). He should sign the checks and stay out of the way. BV is a joke.
  9. Why would it be horrible? It had no discernable negative effect on offensive production last year. Save $ on offense and spend on pitching, where help is actually needed.
  10. Hunter was better and has more rings. Makes a difference to HOF voters.
  11. Would still rather Kalish/Reddick and spend $ on pitching.
  12. How's CC's arm? Good enough for RF in Fenway? Certainly his speed would be better used there. He looked timid playing the wall last year.
  13. Beltran is a big question mark. He could either be a legit MVP candidate or an injured OF/DH. At this point, I'm leaning towards not going the FA route for RF. Kalish/Reddick combo isn't a horrible dropoff.
  14. Is keeping Becks healthy easily fixable? What good is a broken down pitcher for the playoffs?
  15. Didn't the Cubs pick up his option?
  16. As for pitch selection: Justin Masterson's fastballs are on line 1 for you. Should he be a starter? Idk. Should he be the closer? Hell no.
  17. There was an overhaul of the pen last year. How'd that work out? Most people on here were excited about Wheeler and Jenks.
  18. Another LH garbage outfielder? No thanks. Just let Reddick and Kalish fight it out.
  19. I say go back to the days when there were ropes instead of fences, when CF in the Polo Grounds was 500+ feet away, games were only played during the day, and umpires stood behind the pitchers. Now that's real baseball. When men would wear fedoras instead of MLB licensed merchandise.
  20. Who gives a s***? This is talksox. We don't care.
  21. How is demanding anything going to help the situation. Cubs have Theo already. Loud noises aren't going to scare them into giving up prospects.
  22. Looks like this is going to end up in Selig's hands?
  23. Tampa is good because of their pitching, not because of Maddon.
