The problem is that they won't ever have enough money to sign Adrian no matter what happens. San Diego has a very apathetic fan base and even a nice playoff run wouldn't bring much of a spike in attendance. If they trade him in the off-season, they can get more for him than they could if they waited until the trade deadline.
His ceiling in Boston would be as a 4th outfielder. If you can get a solid reliever for him (wouldn't happen, but maybe you get someone on a day when they drank too much cough syrup) you do it without thinking twice.
I'd be only interested if it was the 08 Iannetta. He can play a little 3b too, but I just don't think he's worth giving up much for.
However, Lowrie is nothing more than a 25th man on a roster.
I actually had a dream last night that Lackey was pitching with a 5 run lead. He ended up giving up 6 home runs in an inning (3 of which to people who had never hit one in the majors before).
Apparently I'm already prepared for the worst. I think he'll be ok though.
