Idk, research says he may be too ethnic for the ladies living in Boston. Maybe have Kalish do some one arm pushups near famous Boston landmarks with Nava, Ross and some other schlep. What kind of shoes is that Hawaiian guy wearing these days? -

And Wright is basically Charlie Zink. Now that was a memorable SP performance!

And Cook had a 2.4 ERA in AAA last year. Minor league stats don't directly translate to MLB. If I had one start I needed to fill and the options were DiceK, Wright, or Hernandez, I'd go with DiceK. The depth options last year included Morales and Aceves, so it's not like they contribute in any way shape or form to better depth this year.

To me, it is just silly to include Hernandez and Wright in your depth analysis as neither of them are prospects. Should the 10th option be Cliff Lee? That's your s***** argument? Jeez... I just wanted you to make a case for those two guys. Didn't need you to be so butthurt over it. This year's depth is no better than last year.

SFF, how are Wright and Hernandez considered depth options? Neither is a MLB caliber pitcher?

AGon was more of a sure thing than Upton and he bombed here. Until he can put together a few good years in a row, he's not worth an extension.

We'll see if Lackey is even ready to go on April 1st. I think Tazawa starts in AAA since he has options. If Aceves starts slow or acts out, he's gone.

Uh huh. If they want to get to the playoffs, they need to replace Beckett's 2011 production, not his 2012 production.

Losing Beckett and replacing him with Dempster is a big downgrade. Defensively, this is a below average team. Chemistry will help, but I just can't see this team winning 90 games. The biggest need was SP, and their staff for 2013 is worse than it has been. If Lester and Buch become top of the rotation guys again and Doubront makes steady improvement, they should be ok. I just don't think it's the most likely of scenarios.
