  1. In cursive? I haven't had to write like that since middle school. Completely useless talent.
  2. And Youk said he'll always be a Red Sock. Class all the way.
  3. Your argument is just a red herring.
  4. Apparently, if you disagree with someone you're trying to get them banned.
  5. If Doubs isn't ready, Morales can have his spot.
  6. What are you talking about? Pal clearly showed all of us that Lester is just as good as Verlander! Lester should get his HOF speech ready!
  7. I just don't want to hear "he's unlucky" if he has a 4.5 ERA in July...
  8. And for Price, you included his rookie season of 2009. May as well run the #'s back to 06 for Lester...
  9. So he doesn't need ace-like seasons to be an ace?
  10. By excluding 2012, Pal rigged the results by moving the goalposts in for Lester and out for the other pitchers. He excluded Lester's bad year. He excluded the other guys' good years. It's a poor argument.
  11. He can't and you haven't come close to proving otherwise.
  12. Your argument is horrible. Lester at his best is worse than Price/Verlander/Weaver at their bests. That's why you left out 2012!
  13. The years used by Pal are just meaningless. You can't ignore Lester's bad 2012 and the other pitchers' good 2012's. I only posted in here because Pal referred me here from another thread. I'm not posting to backup Jung's contentions.
  14. When you ignore his most recent year, it's dumb and arbitrary.
  15. Why not include Lester's 2012 stats. Did last year not count? So you include other pitcher's bad years, but not Lester's? Horrible analysis. And wins are a stupid measure.
  16. Weaver's past 3 years are better than any year Lester has had.
  17. Lester has NEVER pitched as well as Verlander has the past 2 years.
  18. Shields isn't a #1. Price's first full year wasn't until 09 ( and he's outperformed Lester the past 3 years). Greinke has been wildly inconsistent.
  19. His K/9 has gone down steadily since 09. If you aren't concerned about that, I don't know what to tell you.
  20. It pained me to copy/paste that.
  21. Nope. It's going to be Steven Wright! @Knucklepuck23: First day of spring in the books and I really enjoy the guys there fun to be around!!!!
  22. At the end of the day, the problem with the rotation is its lack of a #1. At best, Lester is a 2 and Buchholz will never be more than a 3 due to his durability issues. Adding a #4 in Dempster was meaningless. All last year, we heard that Lester would get better because of his FIP. He was "unlucky" even though teams were teeing off on him. Well, maybe he's not much better than a 15 W 3.8 - 4.2 ERA guy. He's a fine pitcher, but not a leader and not a #1. Until the Sox improve the front of their rotation, they won't be a playoff team.
  23. There are more than enough wet blankets around here.
