  1. Farrell sucks! Ben is a boob! John Henry is a vampire who sleeps in a 15th century coffin and murdered someone on his boat. Well, the last one is probably still true.
  2. You could have just said "Tony Thomas."
  3. In terms of horribleness: 1986>2003>2011 I was still in diapers during 1978 so it couldn't have been that bad to me.
  4. @alexspeier: Red Sox likely to pick up Jon Lester’s 2014 option, but no formal decision to be made till after World Series Incorrect thread title. Move along folks.
  5. There are a bunch of tall SS's these days. Jeter. Cal.
  6. I think he meant "it seemed like a bad signing at the time"
  7. My only problem with the post is "anywho."
  8. It has happened this year and at least one time they came out with a W.
  9. You should have just made it last night then.
  10. In 20 years, they've won the division 3 times. Now that they're on track to win it this year (after one of the worst seasons of all time last year, mind you) people can't stop bitching. Farrell sucks. Napoli k's too much. Dumpster. Doubront should go to the pen. Gomes sucks. Drew sucks.
  11. Waaaaaah, we're in first place. If we had a real manager we could go 162-0.
  12. I hope the Chargers move to a city that will actually support them!
  13. You're also a Chargers fan.
  14. Not "Red Sox Small Talk?"
  15. 162 games at 3-5 hours vs 16 games at 3.5 hours Football is a little bit higher on the radar, especially since the Sox are running away with the division.
  16. Howie Long said it best: "baseball is America's past time. Football is its passion."
  17. I just don't think HOF voters care if a team retires a number or not. Like I said, the reason it took Rice so long to get in wasn't because his number wasn't retired, it was because he was a fringe HOF candidate.
  18. Where's BTR when you need him?
  19. "The Sox will want to head off some of the detractors who will knee jerk their way to "how can we consider him for the HOF when the Sox won't even retire his number"." This makes little sense. Was that why it took Rice so long to get in, because the Sox didn't retire #14? No.
  20. The Yankees could really do anything with the way they're playing right now. They could win out and make the playoffs, lose out and execute Susie Waldman, or something in between. Anything could happen.
  21. Nope, Yanks can't get out of that albatross contract that easy.
