Farrell has already stated that there will be long toss sessions, side sessions, simulated games and rehab starts. That's at least 4 weeks there. Farrell's plan has him coming back around Sept 1st. This isn't some arbitrary Buch decision. He's been out 6 weeks. The rule of thumb is you rehab 1week for each week out.
The Yankees should really look into having a BoSox 2012 second half. Trade almost everyone for prospects and tank for better draft picks. With all the injuries, I'm sure Yankees fans wouldn't mind taking a mulligan.
Depends on what is being offered. The only pitchers I wouldn't move on from are Lackey (cheap money), Doubs and the young guys (Webster, RDLR, etc).
I'd package Taz in a deal if it helped to bring back a quality starter.
I don't see the point in ever trading a starting pitcher that is destroying his competition. I'd rather have 2.5 more years of a very good Lackey than a hit or miss prospect.
Why I don't blame Buch for sitting out: no one on here has faith in the Sox medical staff, so why should he? It wasn't that long ago that the Sox told Buch to just keep pitching. Well he pitched but later found out he had a broken back. Great misdiagnosis there. Remind me again why he should have trusted the Sox in the first place especially when he was feeling pain?
Barndon Workman "the guy half the board wants to trade for spare parts" v Matt Moore
Workman has a whip under 1.00 and a K/BB of 9 to 1. Rays are in town. s*** just got real.
