  1. Ok, so when you and Fred are saying people are ok with this rotation, it's because of people posting on Facebook/Reddit/Twitter and NOT because of posters on Talksox? It's just confusing because a lot of people are saying "why are people ok with this rotation" when almost all the thoughts I've seen on here are stating that a #1 is needed and that this rotation is mediocre.
  2. What a monster....
  3. He just f***ed the Pats too... "@garystriewski: Dear Pro Bowl, Thanks but we're gonna be busy that week gettin ready for the Super Bowl. Love Always, Brady, Gronk, Gost, Revis, Slater"
  4. I, for one, am EXTREMELY concerned about the curse of Gary Striewski. This team is done for as long as that piece of wood is around. It just makes me sick to my stomach that pruneface and that muppet Tom Werner would allow our beloved institution to be tethered to that anchor. Whenever he is on my television, I'm haunted by those dead eyes of his.
  5. What's your definition of a "true #2?" My guess is that Masterson, Miley, Porcello and Buchholz have all had seasons where they pitched like a #2. How many "true #1's" are in the league? 15?
  6. The closest reasoning I've seen has been "the AL East sucks, they could contend with this pitching staff in the regular season." I'm not sure anyone is getting ready for the duckboats yet. This isn't that kind of team right now.
  7. Counting on Price, Cueto and Zimmerman to all hit FA is pretty risky too.
  8. @danconnollysun: Orioles have claimed OF/C Ryan Lavarnway from Cubs. They tried to claim him one other time this offseason. He's been waived/claimed 3 times He's the real deal.
  9. To me, a pitcher's 20-23 seasons aren't indicative of how he'll pitch at age 26. To hold a baseball player's performance prior to being able to drink seems like picking nits to me.
  10. I wouldn't know why. Porcello is a much better starter than Capuano. It's not even close.
  11. If Vasquez is batting .190, I'd still want him starting 100 games. He needs the experience. His bat is not his priority right now. We'll see if he grows into a .250 hitter.
  12. Ross had a 2/6.2M contract. Depends on what your definition of cheap is. Hanigan's contract is close enough to Ross' to me.
  13. D'oh
  14. It's only money and they are flush with it.
  15. You can't keep everyone.
  16. The pitchers are going to love who they are throwing to this year.
  17. Injured for past 2 seasons. Can't shoot. Not a great defender. Only motivated in the playoffs and this isn't a playoff team. His contract is up in June and he outright told some teams he wouldn't re-sign with them.
  18. Oh yeah, blow up a team the offseason after going to the ECF. Trade Rondo with 3 years left on his contract. That would have gone over well.
  19. And when they are injured for the 2 years before that.
  20. The most you could get for Craig is a few prospects, a bullpen arm, or someone else's bad contract. I think they should keep him and see if he gets his old swing back.
  21. And these guys are not in Max's stratosphere.
  22. With the way he plays, I doubt he'll be fully healthy again.
  23. Pedroia has no pop left. Betts should lead off with Pedroia hitting second.
  24. So we no longer missed out on not trading Lester for him???
  25. His agent is Scott Boras. He's going to wait until the end of January and get PAID.
