  1. Nah, I'd take Panda.
  2. People would be happy with replacement level.
  3. Hanley isn't making anends by not taking fielding a new position seriously. Panda isn't making amends by coming to ST like a big tub of goo. Considering how horrible they were last year, I'm not sure they even deserve a chance (even though I will be giving them one).
  4. I think Panda maybe slimmed down in December. Once he realized that ST was around the corner, he had one last binge-a-thon on pizza and cookies and pizza topped with cookies. I do the same before I start any new diet. Only difference is that I only do it for a weekend, while he probably didn't stop chewing for 4-5 weeks. Parcells once said that he hated Thanksgiving because his OL would go home and "put their winter coats on." I think that's probably what Pablo did.
  5. He sucked last year and came in looking fat after the Sox were in last place last year. Plus Sox tickets are way too expensive and they got rid of Don. I'm not surprised that many fans are pissed.
  6. That's all I'm saying. Betts should stay in CF until JBJ becomes an everyday player. I still prefer to have Bradley's arm in RF.
  7. Vazquez has offensive potential? Since when? Personally, I think he gets stashed in AAA and Blake makes the most of his situation. He should end up hitting about .285 with 15 HRs which is great for that position.
  8. I'm at the 85-89 estimate as well. I don't expect them to get the WC, but I think there will be a good race the last few weeks.
  9. Johnson or Owens could earn a spot even if the other pitchers don't piss down their legs.
  10. So now that everyone wants JBJ in CF, we may as well push Mookie back to 2b. Beninterdi will be up sooner or later and he can slide over to RF as his athleticism would be wasted in LF. For now, we can just platoon Holt with Young. If this team was a WS contender, I'd be reluctant to move Pedroia, but I think now might be the perfect opportunity before he really starts to decline. Maybe for some high upside young pitching? The Sox haven't been the greatest at internally developing pitchers.
  11. Where do you expect this time to wind up on 10/2?
  12. Last year, both Xander and Mookie had breakout seasons that exceeded most expectations. Who do you think will have a breakout season in 2016?
  13. Betts doesn't have enough OF experience to be jerking him around. He needs to be left at one position and learn it.
  14. I owe you my sig for a month. Let me know what you want to do.
  15. All they had to say was "he worked on his agility over the offseason and will be ready to do for opening day." All this other nonsense is just PR spin that is failing. You can't have multiple contradictory reports every other day. Pablo is at fault, but management isn't helping the situation. They could have squashed the story on day 1, but didn't. Pablo is eating his way out of the league, but let's not pretend that this is something that happened overnight.
  16. So just leave Betts alone! What's with the impetus to move Betts to a new position if CF will be manned by two part timers?
  17. Farrell stated the Chris Young will play against every LHP. If JBJ is playing CF, does that mean Young will start in CF for 50 games? If so, whynot just leave Betts in CF?!?!?!?
  18. He clarified it by saying they paid too much to previous performance and struggled with projecting future performance.
  19. New conspiracy: he wasn't on twitter during the game while using the toilet, it was just while pulled up to the catering table.
  20. Yeah, I remember sport radio being abuzz about trying to sign Bruce Chen for the one game playoff. Like that would have worked...
  21. The answer to Dojji's question was simply "Anthony Rizzo."
  22. And they were a good team in 2011 that just sucked in September. If they had one halfway decent arm to useinstead of Wakefield, they would have made the playoffs.
  23. They are actually just making it worse. They should just say, "we are fine with his progress and he'll be ready for the regular season" and say NOTHING ELSE.
