    How was it overrated exactly? He was lights out in the post season and they won a WS. This post was simply comparing the postseason performance of Foulke, Paps and Koji. I don't think anyone was nominating him for the HOF.

    No, it seems really easy for some people to say he isn't trying no matter the amount of evidence showing that he is trying. He wanted to play 1b in winter ball. Sox said no. "Why isn't Hanley trying???" He is actively getting better at 1b (as noted by posters on this board who are at ST). Many people that are watching him day in and day out are saying this. "Why isn't Hanley trying???" Yes, he began ST using Napoli's old glove, the same glove he practiced with all last year. You want to know why this isn't a story any more? Because he has been using multiple gloves now! Just google images of Hanley playing 1b and you'll see a few different gloves. "Why isn't Hanley trying???"

    I believe Chris Young was brought in to do more than just platoon with JBJ. He's the fail safe for Castillo. I agree that at this point we can no longer say "he's been out of baseball for too long and is just getting his legs under him." It's time to take the training wheels off. I don't believe it will work out for Castillo here. Maybe he's moved midseason? Idk. I hope he proves me wrong though.

    So all the reports stating that Farrell has said he thinks Elias will get the nod are wrong? Ok. Every roster projection I have seen has Wright in the bullpen, not in the rotation.

    High fives and hugs. That's why we love him. The attitude and his success. Paps never had a fun loving attitude and always came across as douchey.

    No he's not. There's no evidence of this anywhere. AGon said that Hanley needs to be closer to the action to keep his focus. It makes more sense that his mind will wander when further away from the ball. This will undoubtedly help his concentration. I have no idea what you are talking about here. It just sounds like rambling to me. Sorry. Um, ok?

    They are banging the drum for a late ST trade in these parts. Ramirez's agent was at JetBlue the other day. Many believe this either means that they are looking into trade opportunities for Hanley or maybe even just find any other zip code for Panda. I don't see why SD would make that move though.

    You were more disappointed in the teams that lost in the last game of the ALCS than mediocre teams that either didn't make the playoffs or probably shouldn't have made the playoffs?

    They forced themselves to sign two 3bs last year when they only needed one. If they really believed they needed another SP, they would have used a few more minor league trading pieces to get one. DUMBrowski must believe the rotation has enough depth to compete.

    Hanley will be fine. The problem is the current starting 3b and the inconsistency of the starting rotation (bigger problem than Pablo honestly).

    DUMBrowski fired Phil Garner after an 0-6 start for Detroit. I don't think he'd hesitate to do it again. Considering the Moran story leaked a few weeks ago, the writing is on the wall. Ownership and the FO is ready to move on.

    Right now, Paps is an unknown postseason commodity due to his diminished stuff. If he was still pitching like 2007, we would concede your point. It's easy to rack up saves for a last place team.

    I like all dumpster dive opportunities as long as they aren't guaranteed a spot. He could be a good RP.
