    I think he has the info, but is generally slow to react. He's not known as a good in game manager. Even his buddy Schilling thinks it's not something he's great at.

    Right and instead of saying "maybe we should put them in dresses" the manager should have explained the new rules to the team in ST. The Jays are completely at fault for losing this game. I have no sympathy for it. If Pedroia did the same thing, I'd double my efforts to tell everyone he needs to be traded.

    I agree, but I don't believe they need to come in every game. They'll have their turns. I just don't think this is the best example to state that Farrell messed up by not pinch hitting.

    So you'll go through 3 bench guys (Young to Panda to Castillo) for one AB in the middle of the game? This could have made sense in the 8th or 9th inning, but not that early in the game with the Sox already holding a lead. People complain about managers not making enough moves, but fans tend to want to make moves just for the sake of making moves. Personally, I'd rather stick with Holt than needing to put Castillo in LF for the final 4 innings of a game.

    Umpiring crew chief Mike Everitt said he was limited to passing on what the replay officials sent him in terms of an explanation: "After viewing all relevant angles the replay official definitely determined that the runner violated Rule 601 J.     And if players don't really know the full impact of the new rule and didn't practice sliding techniques in ST, shame on the managers.
