  1. Would you have had Kelly warming up prior to Kimbrel's first pitch?
  2. Please do not invoke that name.
  3. Clay has been awesome. I'm not denying that. All I was saying earlier was that it was a missing piece, not the most important piece.
  4. If Farrell wants to do that, he should try it out in the regular season to see how it goes first.
  5. Yes, I have. I'm also repeating what was said on last night's broadcast and I'm pretty sure Steve Lyons played at a more competitive level than either of us did...
  6. That was solely due to Salty's ineffectiveness behind the plate. I doubt any of the 3 guys we have now would replicate that monstrosity.
  7. You'd have to ask the pitching staff that one.
  8. When someone doesn't understand that you can complain about someone on one hand, but give them credit on the other... You can't make this stuff up...
  9. "The most important factor in us succeeding" is a determination that is in the eye of the beholder. Was he the cog to us winning the AL East? Or was it Papi's transcendent season? Or was it Pedey having his best season in years? Or was it Porcello pitching like a CY? Or was it Mookie contending for MVP? Or was it JBJ becoming an All Star? I'd take those 5 guys as bigger reasons we are in first place than Clay. Did I want someone not named O'Sullivan or Owens pitching in the 5th spot? Of course! That doesn't mean it's the most important part of the roster.
  10. Without Pomeranz, who would we be starting?
  11. We've had more longwinded posters on here before. At least your posts try to go somewhere rather than meander off into nothingness.
  12. Kimbrel's postseason record: 6.2 IP 1 ER 10 K 3 BB 1 H Of course, until he does it here, we will have no idea what to expect. I don't believe last night was a high pressure situation since the O's clinched before he even took the mound. When the owners are highfiving in the box seats before his first pitch, my guess is it's reasonable to expect that Kimbrel would lose a little adrenaline.
  13. I hope this year was just an adjustment for him after coming off surgery. I'm a fan of Vaz and hope he can win the starting job next year.
  14. Where would we be without Pomeranz? Where would we be without that terrible David Price? Where would we be without Kimbrel? In all honesty, no one really knows. DUMBrowski built a roster that won the AL East. Can't complain too much.
  15. Only 6 innings? Garbage.
  16. If he keeps his glorious hair, he'll get to .380 easily. If he cuts it off ala Brock, he has no chance.
  17. Leon seems to have done a great job with the pitching staff since coming aboard. He's still my starter through the end of the season.
  18. Of the 24 qualifiers, .966 is tops (Donaldson) and .705 is worst (Headley). Shaw sits at .732, ranked 21st. The 12th ranked guy (Rendon aka middle of the pack) is .799. In terms of WAR, Shaw is 15th.
  19. Dingers ! Dingers! Dingers!
  20. The only ownership guy I have mixed feelings on is Tom Werner, because of how horrible NESN is and I don't believe he plays a part in the on field product.
  21. 1 Great prospect 1 ok prospect they sold high on 1 nobody
  22. I'll feel better about this tomorrow morning. Glad they won the division.
