  1. http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2017/06/13/travis-shaw-returns-brewers-after-daughters-open-heart-surgery/391441001/ It's still pathetic that Shaw is spending time with his newborn. He needs to hit those dingers! That's his only job.
  2. His seasons are always a mix of lengthy cold streaks and one nice hotter than Hell hot streak. It's just who he is as a player.
  3. Fire Butterfield.
  4. Farrell is such a s***** 3b. DFA!
  5. http://www.sfchronicle.com/athletics/article/A-s-will-let-Trevor-Plouffe-go-to-make-room-for-11222876.php&cmpid=twitter-premium Maybe we should trade Vazquez and a B level prospect for Plouffe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or just wait until he's DFA'd.
  6. @alexspeier Within this look at Red Sox draftees: Sox expect to reach quick agreements with all of their top-10 picks That Scherff will sign is a particularly noteworthy development. He was viewed as a first- or second-round talent who fell to the fifth round in no small part due to signability concerns given that he had a potentially significant amount of leverage as a draft-eligible sophomore had he fulfilled his scholarship commitment to Texas A&M. Although he’ll sign, pending a physical and other standard protocols for draftees, for considerably more than the recommended slot figure of $296,500, the Red Sox’ ability to fit him within their overall draft bonus pool budget represents something of a coup. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2017/06/13/red-sox-day-mlb-draft/NrtE9irq6Ww5DKaBHZVh8N/story.html
  7. Selfishly, I wouldn't mind seeing Devers for a few weeks in AAA.
  8. Rafael Devers has more HR's in fewer AB's than Beni had in AA and his OPS is higher. Not sure what they are waiting on at this point unless they are giving Pablo until the AS Break.
  9. Pepto master race
  10. "Why Baseball's Random Nature is the Reason that I Didn't Make the Postseason for 20 Years as the A's Manager - by Keith Law"
  11. It's clear to me that Farrell isn't taking enough BP. On pace for 92 wins? Who cares! We want dingers! Hit some dingers Farrell!
  12. Nah, I'' sure he makes wonderful plays when I'm not watching too.
  13. He made a great play last game I saw him at 3b too.
  14. The Betts window is at least another 10 years.
  15. The Mike's Hard Lemonade commercials on ESPN were worse.
  16. Cuz I know I cantteat you better....
  17. So this game will be a lot of talking then?
  18. Even if he makes the "right decisions" he could end up "losing a game." Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.

  20. @jcmccaffrey Red Sox announce they've recalled Hector Velazquez from Pawtucket and optioned infielder Deven Marrero back down.
  21. The Sox have the 3rd best record in the AL. Can't be too mad at Farrell over that.
  22. The impetus behind last year's deal was "it's Ortiz' last shot." I don't really see a reason to make a deal this year unless you are bringing in a guy cheaply or for a long term need.
  23. Dusty Baker - 25 Ricky Henderson - 21 David Ortiz - 20 As for what a normal number should be? No clue. The Sox have had 20 walk offs in the last 4 years. If we then assume about 5 walk offs per year, then Pedroia would have played in about 50 walk offs. 50 walk offs/9 batters = 5 expected walkoffs per batter. Ortiz played for 15 years, so he would have had an expectation of 8 walk offs. Did a little better though.
  24. With Price, Wright and Pom's injuries? I don't remember people thinking we were set. There was a big question mark surrounding the health of this staff.
