  1. In reality it will be Marco Hernandez.
  2. They don't like his footwork. He's a bad fit up the middle.
  3. IDK. Rusney played 80 games in 2015 and wound up with a negative BSR and OWAR. He doesn't hit for power and doesn't walk. Even if his defense is legit, it's probably not worth the contract. Also, his best playing days are behind him since he's turning 31 this year.
  4. We don't actually know that until he is given a chance to fail.
  5. I'm sure Boras also had some mystery friends when he was younger that nobody ever met or even that mystery girlfriend from Canada in high school...
  6. Not worth it for a 4th OF. The only way he gets called up is if one of the current OFers has a career ending injury.
  7. There’s always a “mystery team” with Boras.
  8. Pass on Josh Harrison. I don't think he's that good. Steamer projects him to have a negative OWAR this year. Seems overpaid for what he provides.
  9. Wow, such desperation!
  10. @redsoxstats On MLB Radio Dombrowski says he's comfortable returning the current team. He's expecting a lot of players to have better offensive years and he hopes to keep starting pitchers healthy. Says to get Boras on the show to find out what his current thought process is.
  11. Business Insider listed the top 16 heirs in the world, all with net worth above $14.4B. If you look at the Forbes Billionaires List, $14.4 would be about the 70th richest billionaire. If the rest of the rankings go from that SSS, approximately 23% of billionaires inherited their wealth. I'm sure some others inherited a lot of money and wound up increasing that net worth further, but that's a rabbit hole I don't want to go down. Effffffffffff billionaires.
  12. He did. He was a self made man. However, not all billionaires are. Hard to say if the "majority" inherited the wealth or not.
  13. For example: Henry bought the Marlins in 1999 for $158. That garbage franchise was sold for $1.2B last year.
  14. Hard to separate who makes the final call on a FA, but it has to pass by Henry's desk most likely. Henry had a lot of money to start with before he got into MLB. All franchises have seen their value continue to skyrocket. It hasn't really taken much financial genius to keep it going. We'll have to see what happens when the rubber meets the road and tougher times creep up (declining attendance across MLB, decreased tv ratings).
  15. Ockimey is probably a little high there. If he's going to be an impact bat, he needs to take a big jump this year. Cedrola? That's a weird one. I do like looking at how all the rankings match up. Looks like we'll have to keep a closer eye on Brannen this year!
  16. If Pom bolts, the rotation will be Sale/Price/Porcello/ERod/Wright. I think Beeks deserves some spot starts this year at least.
  17. Henry actually has a long history of stupidly throwing money away. http://m.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2012/09/05/Franchises/Liverpool.aspx
  18. Not true. They can be stupid about money too. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2017/07/14/in-severing-ties-with-pablo-sandoval-red-sox-pay-for-a-95-million-mistake/?utm_term=.aa2e547406fe
  19. LOL. I didn't see this post before I made my point about collusion somewhere else.
  20. After the Cubs and Astros both tanked and won a WS soon after, it looks like other teams are trying to follow their lead. That's not good for baseball IMO.
  21. The last time the owners had "fiscal sanity" it ended up just being collusion.
  22. Overall, league ratings in prime time were down -6% compared to last season with the Detroit Tigers (down -38%) leading the way in ratings drag from the year prior. https://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2017/10/10/here-are-the-2017-mlb-prime-time-television-ratings-for-each-team/#6526b3b3799a
  23. That arb figure is crazy for his service time. He probably won’t get 10.5. He deserves it tho.
