  1. He had a good August, so I hope he can continue swinging it for the next few weeks.
  2. Campbell's wishing this season would disappear.
  3. Masa has played in 35 games. Asking how they'd fit Devers into the lineup with the 4 OFers is a bit silly IMO. They've figured it out for a guy OPSing 609!
  4. They aren't going to be able to invest that much on the rotation unless they are having someone take on Masa's full salary. Why block a cheap Tolle for a mediocre Keller that would cost a decent return in trade?
  5. He's not perfect by any means, but I'm not complaining because of where their record stands right now.
  6. Yanks next 12: HOU/TOR/DET/BOS Sox next 12: CLE/ARI/ATH/NYY Sox have a chance to put some games up on the Yanks here.
  7. They have 4 OFers with 3 bWAR. Anthony clearly has the highest ceiling. Rafaela is one of the top CFers in MLB. Number of times Jarren Duran as been above 800 OPS this year: zero. Abreu has had a few injuries this season and seems to be a streaky guy. If they are comfortable playing Roman in RF, I'm fine with trading either Abreu or Duran this offseason if they want to. The return may be less exciting than people on here think though. I'd consider trading them for prospects too.
  8. He's also a PULL AIR guy too! The only thing pulled was the wool over our eyes.
  9. Prior to the Devers trade: 103 wRC+ Post Devers trade: 103 wRC+ Roman Anthony should have been on the Opening Day roster. Sox would be in first place.
  10. Bref adds 2 games that FanGraphs does not. I used FanGraphs when I calculated. 🫠
  11. Also, I haven't heard much mention of Henry Godbout, but he had a 1053 OPS before ending the season due to injury. My guess is he'll start next season in GVL again, but he seemed to not struggle too much there so far.
  12. My point was that he's not hitting those bombs at home and people thought he would be.
  13. It has really come together for him recently. Even early on this year, his secondaries weren't showing that well. Now, they are actually somewhat playable in MLB. There's more work to be done, but he's a lock for an Opening Day rotation spot.
  14. 744 OPS as a DH for Ref. Lowe and Abreu are the only other guys with DH AB's that had OPS > 800, but both were SSS (11 PA's combined). Anthony has a 925 OPS at DH (950 LF, 775 RF).
  15. The Sox would have been a better team in 2025 if they had kept Devers. This doesn't mean they will be worse going forward! Depending on how they spend his AAV and what they do at 1b/DH, the Sox could be better off without him on the roster. Can't say definitively today though.
  16. Matz's OPS was a lot higher vs RHB before he was traded. I think there is some SSS luck involved. Chapman's career splits aren't horrible. Murphy didn't show a split back in '23 so it may not be a concern for him.
  17. Most likely HOU would have to go on a run since they'd be currently 4th in the AL East. If we believe the Sox are beating out TOR and NYY for the division, it's because the Sox are streaking rather than both teams falling off.
  18. The new rules have a lot to do with the increase in balks.
