I'm confused about your "still in AA" remark for Dalbec. Do you think AA is too far away for him to contribute in 2019? Seems that he'll always strike out a ton, but if he is still mashing in AA in the spring, he'll be called up to AAA and could compete at the MLB level if there is a spot due to injury. Honestly, I'd trade Chavis this offseason even just for a bullpen arm. I don't think he's the type of guy that will come back and bite you. Dalbec seems to be a Chris Davis prototype that could have a lengthy and decent career. Before the bottom fell out for Davis, he had MVP caliber seasons. Dalbec's glove is ready and I'm not sure his hitting eye will get better. The only issue is that Cora seems to not like high k guys. He'll either make an exception or Dalbec could be moved too.

That bar was lowered back in the 30's and 40's when the Veterans Committee let their buddies into the Hall. The Hall didn't become bloated over the last decade, arguably the players that have "snuck in" recently were far superior to the ones who entered in the mid 40's.

My ballot would be: Bonds Clemens Edgar Mussina Manny Schill Walker Rivera Halladay Helton I think the people that will get in will be: Rivera, Halladay and Edgar. Mussina, Bonds and Clemens are long shots for this year. I think Helton eventually gets in, but will be treated similarly to how Bagwell got in and will have to wait a year or two. Not sure anyone else has a chance. Since it's Edgar's last year of eligibility, there will be a very strong push from proponents to get him in.

My cable bill I guess? Viewership is down. Half of LA can't watch the Dodgers because of the tv rights out there. Just crazy. I don't see how they make money on this at all. Advertisers must be willing to pay a lot.

The steroid argument is always a wildcard and the one reason Bagwell took too long to get in even though no accusations were levied against him at the time. I think HOF voters will start to care less and less about the steroid issues and Clemens, Bonds, ARod, et al will all be in (and rightfully deserve to be). I like Edgar. He should be in the HOF. I just like Papi better. With Edgar, he hit and played 3b a little but didn't bring much else. Papi hit a s*** ton, had so many memorable heroics, won 3 WS, was a mega superstar who was always smiling and was the face of one of the most important franchises for over a decade. I think stardom plays a bigger role in a guy being elected to the Hall of FAME. I don't believe Edgar put butts in the seats. The only guy I don't want to see in the HOF is Rose who just turned into an absolute grifter.

I think Chavis missing out on AFL time due to injury is a big issue. This guy is always hurt. You can't develop when sitting on the bench. I think Dalbec isn't really a Cora guy (too many k's) so he could be trade fodder, but I'm not sure sticking with Chavis will net you anything on this major league roster. I'd rather Dalbec in a some sort of DH/3B platoon on my bench than Chavis who is a worse defender and can't stay healthy.

I'm not worried about Dalbec's glove. I want to see the swing and miss of his bat not get worse as he progresses into the upper minors.

Kiermaier was also coming off back to back 4 win seasons. Maybe the bigger issue will be NYC and LAD driving up prices this offseason and increasing player value going forward? We'll see. Let's see what type of dollars AJ Pollack gets and then we can see what the ceiling for JBJ would be.

I still believe that a market for JBJ doesn't develop the way people think and that there is a very good chance he stays at $10 AAV.

Overpay to keep Mookie and Xander IMO. Then you still have a core of Mookie, Xander, Devers and Benintendi which is basically what the entire top of your lineup will look like in 2 years.

Papi has 230 more HR's, 200 more R's, 500 more RBI. Sure, Edgar got on base more, but his peak era was during the 95 - 01 which was also the peak era of scoring in baseball. Wonder what Papi's numbers would have been like then.
