  1. Have you looked lazy bones?
  2. The niece twitter account is fake.
  3. Sox brass loves wallowing in negative news.
  4. And to add to this offseason: Scott Brosius’ son claims Mike Trout is on HGH for a thyroid condition.
  5. Robot umps for balls and strikes. Get rid of replay.
  6. We'll see. I think it's a 30% likelihood.
  7. It's how Selig dealt with steroids all those years.
  8. From Jay Jaffe: While Beltrán was not mentioned by name in Rosenthal and Drelich’s January 7 report of the Red Sox’s own sign-stealing efforts, last week I noted that it was possible to connect the dots between him and the timeline laid out by The Athletic’s intrepid pair. “As far back as 2015, the Yankees used the video replay room to learn other teams’ sign sequences, multiple sources told The Athletic. Other teams likely were doing the same. Sources said the Red Sox began doing it no later than 2016.” Beltrán played for the Yankees from 2014-16 before being traded to the Rangers on August 1 of the latter year; he signed with the Astros in December 2016. Such circumstantial evidence hardly proves Beltrán’s involvement in New York, but as noted within that article, player movement from team to team appears to have played a significant role in the proliferation of electronic sign-stealing efforts throughout the game. “Oftentimes it takes a player to show up and be like ‘You f—— morons, you’re not doing this?’” one American League executive told The Athletic. (Needless to say, reports of the Yankees’ 2015 participation should also serve as a reminder that the apparent guilt of the Astros and Red Sox may be the tip of the iceberg in this mess, a point that The Athletic has frequently underscored but that appeared to escape Manfred back in November when he said he had “no reason to believe it extends beyond the Astros at this point in time.”)
  9. Sooooooooooo Beltran just stepped down. Does that count as smoke in NYY or no?
  10. Sooner than you thought. Beltran just stepped down.
  11. @TBrownYahoo Carlos Beltran has told the Mets it is best if he steps down. Looks like the direction this will take.
  12. So they're just punting this season then? They don't have anyone to platoon with Chavis at 1b. The 5th OF is Lin. They need to make some moves if they want to compete. They need to make some moves if they want to get under the cap. Right now, neither is happening. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they dump Mookie/Price next week after this weekend's winter nonsense at Fenway.
  13. I wouldn't let him in that cancer in the clubhouse.
  14. It's totally what is going to happen then.
  15. No, he deserves it for Hazel Mae and las drogas.
  16. @PeteAbe The idea of a veteran manager with integrity who would know how to handle all the questions and get the team focused on the season makes sense. Bruce Bochy has said he wants the time off. But Dusty Baker fits that profile. Mike Scioscia, too.
  17. Not sure many people want JBJ at that price point. I think they'd trade Mookie if an acceptable trade came around. I still believe they aren't doing any major deals until after this weekend's winter at Fenway event.
  18. My guess is that's about what will happen.
  19. Gambling is illegal at Bushwood and I never slice.
  20. Carlos Beltran.
  21. They're trading the older guys to get under the tax cap. Trading Beni and ERod doesn't do that.
  22. Did he say that?
  23. Hinch was a follower of the scheme. He wasn't the leader. He didn't have any control over it. The belief is that Alex Cora initiated and ran the entire operation. Hinch, even though he had the title of manager, was really not in charge of the operation and was just on the outside following along.
  24. Silly would be comparing him to Chikatilo.
