  1. Well, he is the greatest CFer of all time so he better make that catch. It's not a reason to swoon over him though. It's just a reason to say "well, that's why he's still starting and not riding the pine."
  2. SoxProspects talked about Reyes on the last podcast. They suggested that since his stuff isn't overpowering, that he needs to have pinpoint accuracy to pitch well. Lately his stuff has just been ok and he's been really just staying out of the zone. As the hitters become more formidable, he's going to nibble more and more at the corners and this could really increase his walk rate (which had really been outrageously small before).
  3. Or your boy Marco Hernandez.
  4. How'd Sale look last night with Leon catching him?
  5. Chavis has a 231 OPS since Cinco De Mayo.
  6. But Leon is a fatty fatty fat fat?!@?!?!?
  7. Make Sale Day Great Again
  8. There is no one here named that.
  9. With the amount he strikes out, sacrificing every time a runner is on isn't the worst idea in the world.
  10. I'm an idiot that is working on little to no sleep.
  11. I've said as much previously. DD has the opportunity to sell high.
  12. Hitting poorly doesn't affect his defense though. The 04 Sox were smart enough to get Mirasmelly for his glove even though they already had Millar. (Ed note: Meant to say Manischwitz. Sorry all.)
  13. If everyone else is hitting, JBJ's offensive ineptitude doesn't matter. It really shows up when the entire team is struggling though.
  14. Not sure why they'd trade the one good defensive 1b they have. More likely the just hold their nose with Chavis at 2b, Chavis regresses and is sent to AAA or Pearce is DFA'd.
  15. 86, because it was just beginning my childhood baseball obsession, knew about the "curse" and was woken up by my dad to see the last outs of game 6. "MVP, wake up. The Sox are going to win the World Series." Sees Stanley's wild pitch and run to my bedroom crying. 2003 was frustrating as hell, but it was a trainwreck that I saw coming when Grady didn't pull Pedro out. I punched the s*** out of my work van and took a break from watching sports. I was still in diapers for 78 so can't say I remember it.
  16. Devers is a 3b. He's got the range. Errors are overrated.
  17. And the worry is that Chavis may not be able to make those adjustments. There's worry that there could be LOTS of regression. For the Sox, Chavis has the second highest k %, second highest swinging strike %, second lowest contact %, lowest ball in play %, lowest line drive % and highest infield fly ball %.
  18. I'm not sure there are any big deals this deadline for the Sox, unless the Sox are the ones moving players. I think the pen reinforcements come from the minors. I think the offense is fine. I think either Pearce or Nunez go back on the IL until they can turn things around. I think we see a bigger change in personnel this offseason.
  19. Affects.
  20. Light sentence IMO.
  21. Selling out for power. Lots of swing and miss right now. We’ll see what happens when league catches up to him.
  22. That's a big no for me buddy.
  23. s***, I don’t do my own taxes.
