  1. Just starting Beni in CF is a bad omen to begin with.
  2. Honorable United Noteworthy Treasure Excellent Radical Physical Exceptional Nice Caring Earnest This account is now a Hunter Pence fan account for the next 12 hours, because of reverse mojo reasons.
  3. No. You are breaking the long standing rules of mojo.
  4. @redsoxstats Over the past 5 seasons Betts is a .224 BA, .314 SLG hitter when going the opposite way, one of the 10 worst oppo hitters in baseball. Not sure why the huge spike so far this year, he is actually getting more middle and inner thirds of the plate pitches and fewer away.
  5. Will Smith. He's a FA after this year and has pitched well as a closer for the s***** Giants.
  6. You see, once Betts leaves all other FA's will refuse to play here. The window closes! There is no other way to get a competitive team unless the system is stocked!
  7. Sox have been to 6 ALCS and won 4 WS since the last time the Mariners even won their division. There is no window for that team.
  8. I'm sure the Sox will still have a much better record than the M's at that point.
  9. No, this is bad mojo. There are rules to this.
  10. Sox lost last night with you making the game thread. Why in the Hell did you make the post today?!??!?!?!?!?
  11. 28-41. That's not a window, unless it's a basement window covered in spider webs.
  12. @SoxNotes Xander Bogaerts ranks 5th in All-Star Game voting among AL shortstops, but he ranks 1st or 2nd among AL players at the position in several stat categories: 19 doubles – 1st 50 runs – 1st 12 HR – 2nd 31 XBH – 2nd 42 RBI – 2nd 34 BB – 2nd .371 OBP – 2nd
  13. Per metrics, it definitely is. He has thrown more CB's this year than FB's for the first time in his career. His FB has been a negative pitch since last year. His velocity is still ok, but his location is terrible.
  14. Agreed.
  15. Sounds more like a wet dream for you. Terrible trade for the Sox.
  16. Red Sox should have traded Yaz in 68.
  17. Ward hasn't allowed an earned run since May 9th. Wowzers.
  18. That sounds like more of a Farrell thing TBH.
  19. People on here like to play the "you said this back then" game and I'm just putting it out there. The Sox are still above .500. We've seen far worse from this team in 2014 and 2015. My only worry is that this is a redo of 2012, but I don't see them blowing this one up. They don't have the prospects lying in wait to bring up.
  20. Your MiLB Probables for Tuesday PAW: Teddy Stankiewicz (2nd round pick once the org's 15th best prospect ahead of Devers/Brentz/Marrero, but has fallen to just "org depth guy") POR: Denyi Reyes (pitched out of his mind the last few years at lower levels, has struggled in AA 22 bb's this year which is more than last year's total) SAL G1: Jhonathan Diaz (22 year old in Salem that hasn't put anything together, has gone 6 innings only twice this year) SAL G2: Dylan Thompson (26 year old just signed out of indy ball last month, has a sinker but has gotten walloped every start) GRN: Thad Ward (5th rounder last year, has 1.84 ERA and .98 WHIP in Salem, midseason promotion?, currently 22nd ranked prospect but should be higher)
  21. Bryan Gonzalez went 3 for 5 with a triple and now has an OPS of 1.291 for DSL Red Sox 2. It was a slow start to the season for Triston Casas, but since the calendar turned to May the former first-round pick has been reborn at the plate. At the end of April, the strong lefty was batting just .208 with a pair of home runs to his name, but a monster May has given way to an equally impressive June which has seen him put up a .316/.366/.500 line. Casas has now raised his OPS .867 and will look to carry his strong performance into the South Atlantic League All-Star Game, where he will represent Greenville on the Southern Division Roster.
  22. I know how people are. I'm just putting my position out there. When the top of the order and your entire starting rotation struggles the first few months, it's tough to get yourself out of it. I expect the Sox to stay in contention throughout the year. If next season is of a similar ilk, then a conversation could maybe make sense. I'm just surprised that "Desperate Dave" hasn't either blown up the team or signed a bunch of guys to wreck the cap!
  23. Yes, and it's very cool and normal for people on TS to run straight for this kind of muckraking.
  24. 1st place 1st place WS title This year Definitely fire the guy! Not a mistake IMO!
