ARE YOU READY FOR SOME BASEBALL?!?!?!?
@alexspeier
MLB distinguishes between what the Red Sox did -- suggesting that video replay coordinator JT Watkins and 'a limited number of Red Sox players' were updating sign-sequence info used with RISP in-game -- from what the Astros did

"Conduct was far more limited in scope and impact (than Stros)."
"Did not find that Cora... or most players knew" that Watkins was illegally updating his analysis."
"Red Sox front office consistently communicated rules and made commendable efforts towards instilling a culture of compliance."
I own a Larry Bird team USA jersey that I've had for 28 years and a USC football jersey from when I had season tickets. I don't think I've ever owned any others.
Regarding the Gronk trade terms, the Patriots really didn't have much leverage. If Gronk signed his papers to unretire, he would have been on the books for a $12M cap hit for a team that only had about $1M in space.
I remember a cartoon in Sport Magazine that had Garvey running to home plate with a bunch of kids cheering for him.
I never learned the actual story, just understood what it was inferring.
To me, continuing to play at a high level against the best competition in the most stressful situations is clutch. I don't think there's "another level."
Anyway, it was really cool watching that game last night. I forgot about players like Glenn Hubbard and Franklin Stubbs. And if ESPN had a Vin Scully 24/7 channel, I'd watch it daily.
