    They just don't have starting pitching depth in the high minors that they can bring up. If they had more guys, maybe they'd risk Mata, but it's better to just continue punting on this season.

    Houck just isn't ready. I don't think they want to throw him out there as a starter and get lit up. They'll probably transition him to the pen at some point. I think they value his potential and don't want to get in his head. Seabold? Maybe they want to work with him a little longer to get a feel for him. I think they are probably trying to correct Pivetta's issues. I think they are just looking for fungible bodies to put in innings this year.

    When I was CFO, if I reviewed a senior accountant's journal entry and approved it. Is it the senior accountant's fault if it's still wrong? Shouldn't I have corrected it or seen the mistake. Yes, the senior accountant made a mistake, but I was supposed to be the one reviewing and approving that work. It's still their work, but it'd still be MY mistake.

    I'm not sure fans are rooting for the team to lose. I think fans want to see some younger guys get some run so that we have a better idea what the future could look like.
