  1. I missed it, sadly. We'll see how many BOSOX broadcasts I get through MLB.TV. Do they offer both home and away broadcasts, or is it random?
  2. If Brasier is the closer, they are tanking.
  3. I wouldn't expect Weber to pitch into the 6th inning ever. I always figured he'd be the piggyback 4 inning (at most) guy.
  4. Alex Cobb Wade LeBlanc Glad they are going with the "remember that guy" formula.
  5. Every starter for the O's after Means is anticipated to have an ERA above 5. WTF...
  6. That's the worst opening day starter I can think of. Wow...
  7. Gotta keep that narrative going somehow!
  8. Even money on Moreland since he keeps turning up like a bad penny.
  9. Supposedly at a discount even though when it was signed it was the largest 2b contract in the game.
  10. But, if the Sox can somehow go 6-4 against one and 7-3 against the other (doable in a short season), it really gives them an inside track into getting into the playoffs.
  11. Uh, how many LAST DAMN PLACE seasons did Ben have again?
  12. And the problem with trades is that you can only trade for guys in another team's 60 player pool. It really limits the type of prospects you can get when you move your established players. I don't believe Pillar/Moreland/JBJ would bring much back in return. I think dealing Workman makes sense. I'm not sure what kind of return you could get for JD since he has a weird contract and the other team doesn't really know JD's long term expectations. I bet JD rides out his whole contract because I don't think he could get more on the open market, especially in light of the potential impact COVID may have on FA next year.
  13. Verdugo, Chavis and Dalbec need AB's too. I think Roenicke just goes with a normal/boring starting lineup for the most part. I doubt Arauz gets more than 10-15 starts unless there is an injury. If there were more high end young pitchers, we'd probably see more interesting choices there. I bet Wong and Downs hang out in PAW for the whole year.
  14. Since they are expected to lose games and revenue this year, it's actually a really good time to try out some weird s***. If Downs is ready, throw him in there. As for the pitchers, I think I'd hold back on forcing them up. I think you stick with their development schedule and not try to Meredith/Hansen them.
  15. Tough crowd. Jeez...
  16. No he enjoys posting every thought as a separate thread. Also, Ward is still over 2 years away.
  17. If Eovaldi starts slow, this team is screwed.
  18. @peteabe Watching the Sox feed on Periscope — pscp.tv/w/1dRKZZkBzwdKB — and Dave O'Brien said Tim Hyers told him Rafael Devers hit the RF facade during BP. Ortiz would routinely hit balls several rows beyond the visitor bullpen in BP. Can't say I ever saw somebody hit the facade.
  19. McHugh is opting out. His arm isn’t healing quick enough.
  20. @peteabe Eduardo Rodriguez says to wear a mask, wash your hands and be careful. COVID-19 hit him hard. It was all he could do to get out of bed. "I felt like I was 100 years old." This is a 27-year-old professional athlete.
  21. Pesky pole. I’ve heard Arauz pronounced 3 different ways so far.
  22. Arauz with the walkoff bomb. Godley takes the loss.
  23. Ye of little faith
